HARD Summer Music Festival is the one music festival every summer you’re pretty much guaranteed to sweat at the most. And if you don’t know, you can always ask your friends on Twitter who’ve been to all the previous HARD summers - they’ll pretty much convince you to go naked, but I won’t so don’t worry! This is your somewhat comprehensive guide on what to wear to HARD Summer Music Festival.

So let’s think about this: HARD Summer will be taking place at the LA Coliseum this year, making it one of the most anticipated festivals of the year. You can get tickets here and check out the lineup below!

Functional Wear

And now, to the fun(ner) part: FASHION. We LOVE a good fit! But what’s in a “good fit”? Honestly, it’s all subjective! I’ve been both the one in the big t-shirt & vans AND the one in the cute two piece stomping around in Demonias like I own the place - it’s all about balance baby! At the end of the day, what really matters is that you’re wearing something that you’re comfortable and feel beautiful in.

Edgy

There are two main themes at HARD Summer: edgy, and neon. If you manage to create a fit with both of these styles, you're going to slay! Edgy looks are usually pretty comfortable and can be worn for hours at a hot festival without feeling like too much. Here are some of our faves for the 2023 HARD Summer Music Festival!

Hot Girls Listen To Techno Outfit

Sunflowerraver x iHR I'm Sensitive Bodysuit Cutout Outfit

Slander x iHR Feeling Good Slander Cropped Outfit

Ignite My Fire Halter Loop Outfit

Neons

I really love this neons because not only are they always in style, but they fit any vibe. You get anything from cute floral/trippy prints reminiscent of the 60’s to reflective cutout corsets that take you back to the future where Britney Spears rules our hearts once more.

Liquid Tripp Spliced Outfit

Get Down Girl Recycled Fabric Outfit

Trippy Time Acid Smiley Outfit

Regardless of what you end up wearing to HARD Summer, make sure once again that you stay hydrated, bring sunscreen & have the time of your life! Also, don’t forget to tag us @iheartraves for a chance to be featured!

Happy HARD Summer y’all!

Any raver knows that massive festivals like EDC are certainly fun, but the real scene is hidden in the smaller, local festivals sprinkled across the globe. Get Funky, the annual all-house music festival that takes place on the shores of the Great Salt Lake every spring and early summer, is no exception.

With a killer lineup and some of the best sunset views you'll ever see at a festival, Utah's Get Funky is worth the trip. This year's Get Funky is just a few weeks away, but there's still time to get going! Below you'll find everything you need to know about Get Funky, from what to wear to how to get there!

Get Funky Festival

The 2024 Get Funky lineup is one that you cannot miss. With headliners like Kaskade, Tchami, and Malaa, Get Funky is set to bring the summer vibes. Catch sets from supporting acts like Wax Motif, Wuki, and Chris Lorenzo with even more throughout the two-day festival weekend. Get Funky started as a one-day festival to bring in the summer, but quickly grew to a two-day event after it became so popular.

This year's Get Funky Festival will take place from June 21-22 at The Great Saltair just outside of Salt Lake City, UT. You can grab tickets here, and prices start at $125 for a two-day GA pass! Check out the 2024 Get Funky lineup below:

Getting There

The Great Saltair is just a short drive outside Salt Lake's bustling downtown. Grab an Uber from downtown or take one of the shuttles offered by the festival for an easy ride. Get a shuttle pass here. You can also drive out there, but be aware that you'll need a pre-paid parking pass. You can grab a parking pass at the festival website.

What to wear to Get Funky Festival

The weather in Salt Lake at this time of year is warm, but not hot. Be prepared for some possible summer rain, but don't feel like you have to bring a coat! Here are some of my fav picks for Get Funky this year:

Neon Nostalgia Cutout Outfit

If you're like me you probably fantasized about what Woodstock could have been like back in the day. The perpetual nostalgia for Woodstock has been a huge influence in what makes the festival scene what it is today. That is especially true at festivals like Bonnaroo, which bring the rocker vibes and boho trends together for a psychedelic experience in one of the best camping festivals in the United States.

Bonnaroo takes place every summer on a farm in Tennessee (check out our guide here for everything you need to know about going to the festival). With the hot weather and the camping, you'll really want to go for comfortable rave wear that won't make you sweat any more than you already are! There are tons of music genres at Bonnaroo which means you can get creative with your looks and really go for whatever vibe you want, but here are some top picks for you:

 • Boho Hippie
 • Flower Print
 • Trippy Prints
 • All Black

Boho Hippie

There is no shortage of hippie vibes at Bonnaroo. Sets from headliners like The Chicks and Stevie Nicks will be the perfect place to live out your Woodstock dreams in these fits that look straight out of a 1960s Polaroid.

Acid Storm Outfit

Lava Java Psychedelic Fringe Outfit

Happy Haven Unisex Patchwork Overalls

Vibrant Vortex Fishnet Top

Flower Print

I don't think I need to explain why groovy flower print would go well at Bonnaroo. These cute prints are great for channeling your inner hippie:

Happy Haven Outfit

Rolita Couture x iHR Floral Freeze Babydoll Dress Outfit

Heaven's Dust Outfit

Forest Nymph White Halter Lace Bodysuit Outfit

Trippy Prints

With all of its trippy imagery thanks to artist Oliver Hibert, trippy prints are always a god match at Bonnaroo. Here are some savormeditation favorites:

Shroomy Shimmer Marabou Skirt and Top

Trippy Time Acid Smiley Bra Top

Camping festivals are an amazing experience, especially if you go with your rave fam to a festival known for its one of a kind experiences and art. Bonnaroo is a unique festival that happens annually on a ranch in Tennessee. This camping festival always offers a unique lineup and camping experience that makes it worth checking out. This year the event will take place from June 13-16 and features headlining performances from headliners like Post Malone, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Fred Again, among others.

Bonnaroo can be incredibly fun or be the complete opposite if you come unprepared! The event is just around the corner so I thought I’d provide tips and tricks that you’ll need to plan a successful and stress-free experience at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Do Your Research Before Buying Your Ticket

The festival’s website provides plenty of information on all the different ticket types available. If it’s your first time going, it’s worth reading through it to understand what’s included in each ticket to find the one that’s right for you. There are quite a few ticket options that determine the experience you'll have. You can do anything from GA to an ultra-VIP experience that includes a nicer camping area, golf cart transportation to each stage, unlimited food and drink and special viewing at each stage.

Always remember, festival admission tickets do not include camping passes, so you’ll need to buy them separately. You can also choose tiered camping passes based on the experience you want to have. Tickets and camping passes range from affordable prices to higher prices for a more luxury experience, but give a lot of variety to pick from. You can get both camping and festival passes here.

Plan How You’re Getting There Ahead of Time

Driving is the most popular travel option for Bonnaroovians. Most people drive into the festival, either by car, RV, or uHaul… But if driving isn’t your thing, rest assured there are also shuttle routes departing from different places to get you to the festival grounds. No matter which mode of transport you go for, you need to pre-book your pass with your festival ticket. Make sure you do so in advance before they sell out!

The drive to Manchester is about an hour outside of Nashville or about three and a half hours northwest of Atlanta. Both airports are easily accessible from most US cities and offer lots of rental car options.

Plan to Get There Early

When you’re making your travel plans, keep in mind that the sooner you arrive the closer to the festival entrance you’ll be! The campgrounds fill from front to back so as long as you plan your trip accordingly you won’t get stuck in one of the furthest campsites. Anticipate long lines as you get closer to the festival, so add at least an hour to your travel time for the time you'll spend waiting in line.

Packing is Essential, Be Prepared for Rain

Sunshine isn’t always in the forecast, it’s not uncommon for it to rain and for temperatures to drop. And when it rains at Bonnaroo it pours, so the festival grounds can get really muddy. Bring what you need to stay dry and warm if the weather turns:

 • Warm layers
 • Poncho
 • Boots
 • Thick sleeping bag/blanket

…But Also Be Prepared for Sunshine

On the other hand, it can also get very hot and sunny which requires a whole other list of essentials. Whatever you do, before you start packing check the weather forecast to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your time at the festival. Here are a few necessities you should think about packing:

Bring the Right Footwear

Depending on which area you’re assigned to at the campgrounds, you might end up having to walk quite a distance to get to the thick of the action in Centeroo. Blisters can easily ruin your entire festival weekend so bring the right footwear and socks. Or if you can’t forego your platforms, make sure you have a few dollars to spare each day to catch a pedicab from the campgrounds to Centeroo, and back!

The Festival Grounds Get Dusty

When it doesn’t rain at Bonnaroo a giant cloud of dust will start to surface as soon as the masses of people start trampling all over the festival grounds. Make sure you bring a bandana or face mask to avoid ingesting heaps of dust.

Baby Wipes are Your Best Bet to Stay Clean

Bonnaroo showers are notoriously dirty and the queues can take forever! Arm yourself with some baby wipes to combat any sand, mud or sweat you encounter and need to wipe off.

Pack a Flashlight With Extra Batteries

The campgrounds are massive so finding your tent can be tricky, particularly late at night when it’s dark and you’re tired. Pack a flashlight to make it easier to find your way back! It will definitely come in handy when you’re walking through the campgrounds late at night and even in some parts of the festival.

Bring a Totem/Flag/Floatie

The festival is the size of a small town, over 100,000 people attend each year so it’s really easy to lose your friends in the crowd. Have a totem, flag or floatie that you can spot from a distance and you’ll never lose your group again! When you’re not using it in the crowd you can hang it at your campsite so you’ve got something to look out for when you’re walking back to your tent.

Arrange Your Ride for a Quick and Easy Car Check

Be mindful of what you pack, check Bonnaroo’s official list of prohibited items before you load up your vehicle to prepare for a seamless car check on arrival. Car checks are random but you never know if you’ll end up having your vehicle searched so always respect the rules and be prepared.

If You’re Traveling as a Group, Stay Together

Ensure that everyone in your group that wants to camp together gets in line together, this will guarantee you get to set up next to one another. Bonnaroo crew members won’t wait on your group and definitely won’t save spots for anyone on the campgrounds.

I hope these tips get you well on your way to planning the most incredible weekend at Bonnaroo! Need some inspo for your ‘fits? If you're anything like me, you know that half the fun of going to a music festival is the food. Yes, the music is amazing, but have you ever tried a gourmet taco while raging to your favorite DJ? Have you ever stumbled into homemade brick oven pizza in the middle of the desert at sunrise? Mind-blowing! 😍 So, if you're looking to combine your love of beats and bites, here’s the ultimate list of the top 10 festivals that are a foodie’s paradise.

Happy Hour Outfit

1. Coachella

Okay, so Coachella isn’t just about headliners and spotting James Charles—this festival is a serious foodie haven. From vegan nachos that'll make you forget about meat to artisanal pizzas that could rival Italy’s best, the culinary lineup is as diverse as its musical one. 🍕✨

Plus, they have pop-up restaurants from some of the hottest chefs around. Trust me, your taste buds will be just as dazzled as your ears! 2024 vendors include the LA favorite Kogi, along with classics like the Coachella lemonade (you really must), and higher-end options for the VIPs. Trust me, you don't want to skip the food at Coachella.

iHR x Rolita Couture Floral Frenzy Baby Doll Dress

2. Ultra

Heading to Miami for Ultra? Expect the food to be as vibrant as the city itself. Ultra offers a mix of local flavors and international dishes to keep you fueled. Since it's on the coast, you can find special seafood treats like lobster rolls or sushi. Over in VIP, the TAO Group serves up platters of sushi and caviar straight to your table. There's bottle service and then there's sushi service. IYKYK.

Netherworld Nightlife Outfit

3. Electric Forest

Nestled in the magical woods of Michigan, Electric Forest provides an enchanting escape with an equally enchanting variety of food. It's not just about quick festival eats; here, you can find gourmet meals made with local and organic ingredients. It’s like a fairytale for your stomach! 🌲🧚‍♀️

Food trucks from around the country love checking out Electric Forest, making this just as much of a foodie trip as it is a music trip.

4. EDC Las Vegas

Vegas, baby! EDC isn’t just a feast for the eyes and ears but also the stomach. With food trucks catering to every craving from juicy burgers to spicy Korean BBQ, the options are endless. Plus, with all that dancing, you’ll need the extra calories. Let’s eat and rave our way through the night! 🍔🎉

Over on the Strip, you can find some of the best restaurants in the world in between nights at the Speedway. Check out spots like Carbone, Nobu, and Din Tai Fung for the luxury vibes you've been saving for, or gems like Best Friend or the Asian food hall in Resorts World for unique bites that don't break the bank. Or you can venture into Chinatown just off the strip for a bowl of pho or ramen that will truly heal your little raver soul.

Acid Storm Outfit

5. Governor's Ball

New York City’s Governor's Ball is where music meets the metro’s melting pot of food. From trendy food trucks to local favorites, you can taste dishes from all around the world without ever leaving the festival grounds. Bagels, dumplings, you name it—they’ve got it all! 🍜🍩

Over in the city, you've got some of the best food in the world to pick from. Head to Katz' Deli for a famous pastrami on rye before making your way into the fest, or get some late-night eats down in Chinatown on your way to the afters.

Butterfly Realm Glow In The Dark Outfit

6. New Orleans Jazz Festival

A festival in NOLA? Say no more! The New Orleans Jazz Festival is as much about the food as it is about jazz. Creole, Cajun, and everything in between—eating here is like a music-accompanied tour through New Orleans’ culinary history. Don’t forget to grab a beignet and a bag of crawfish boil! 🎷🍤

Local spots like Dat Dawg can't be missed, and are usually staples at any local NOLA festival.

Pure Euphoria Rainbow Reflective Outfit

7. Hangout Festival

Picture this: you’re on the beach, music’s blasting, and you're biting into some fresh seafood. That’s Hangout Festival for you. Located right on the Gulf shores, the seafood here is as fresh as it gets. Shrimp tacos and beach vibes? Yes, please! 🌊🌮

Mystical Magic Fairy Dress Outfit

8. Burning Man

Wait, what? Yep. It's no mistake that I've included Burning Man on this list. While it's not technically a festival, Burning Man is an event where you can find some incredible food, and it's all free.

Burning Man is all about community and self-expression, and this extends to the food as well. Since it's a gifting society, you'll find homemade, experimental foods that you wouldn't see anywhere else. It’s a unique culinary adventure that mirrors the eccentricity of the event itself. 🌌🥘

Burners from around the world spend their time at Burning Man bringing their talents to the playa. And for the chefs of the world, that often means that they bring their kitchen skills straight to you. Check out Midnight Poutine for freshly made fries drenched in imported Canadian cheese curds and gravy, or head over to Miso Horny for a steaming cup of miso soup right before sunrise. There are thousands of food activations at Burning Man, so grab the book and take yourself on a food tour or keep your nose open to find a bite to eat on your adventures.

Happy Days Marabou Outfit

9. Outsidelands

San Francisco’s chill vibes are perfectly complemented by Outsidelands’ food offerings. From gourmet food and wine pairings to the best of local craft beers, it’s a festival where you can truly indulge your sophisticated side. Fancy a wine flight with your indie tunes? 🍷🎸

San Francisco is somewhat of a food and wine capital in the US, so you can bet the food at the festival will reflect that. After the fest, head over to Chinatown for some late-night noodles and dumplings.

Daisy Dreamland Outfit

10. CRSSD Festival

San Diego’s CRSSD Festival rounds out our list with its focus on techno and house music and its hip, trendy food scene. Think craft beer, fresh oysters, and artisan coffee. It's the perfect place to enjoy the sunset with a craft cocktail in hand, grooving to the deep beats. 🌅🍹

EDC Las Vegas is one of the biggest music festivals on the planet. With over 200,000 square feet of festival to explore throughout the weekend, this festival has a lot to cover and draws a huge crowd, meaning getting to the festival itself is a task on its own.

If you're staying in Las Vegas the festival isn't quite centrally located. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is about 18-20 miles off of the Las Vegas strip depending on where you're coming from. With traffic, that ride can easily go from 20 minutes to several hours, so you'll want to read on for our advice on how to get to EDC Las Vegas!

Rainbow Reflective Daisy Outfit

Getting to Vegas

Flying:

Flying into Vegas is really easy, especially if you're staying on or near the Strip area or Downtown. Most airlines have pretty affordable flights into Vegas because it's a popular destination, and you can fly direct from most places in the United States.

The airport is conveniently located right off of the Strip, making it really easy to get to your hotel from an Uber. Still, Uber in Vegas can get pricey, so expect to pay at least $20 depending on where you're staying, likely more. Some hotels also offer shuttles, so look into that if you want to save on Uber to and from the airport.

Happy Hour Cami Outfit

Driving:

With no traffic, Vegas is about a four hour drive from the Los Angeles area. Keep in mind that I said no traffic though, because on a normal weekend that can go up to five or even six hours with how many people regularly go to Vegas from LA for the weekend. During EDC expect traffic to get worse, so plan ahead and leave early if you think you'll need to.

You can get to Vegas quickly from other cities like Salt Lake and Denver via I-15 which cuts directly through Las Vegas. It's about a six hour drive from Salt Lake and 11 hours from Denver. It's certainly more than Los Angeles, but you're unlikely to hit traffic coming from that direction.

EDC encourages its attendees to rideshare to the festival as much as possible. Hit up local rave groups on Facebook to find a ride to Vegas from your area—you might just find a new rave fam!

Getting to the Festival

Shuttles:

EDC offers shuttles to and from the Speedway to many of the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Look for either your hotel or a hotel nearby to get the most direct access to the festival every day. You can get a shuttle pass on the EDC website here, which includes expedited security entry before you get to the festival to make things go a bit faster at the Speedway.

Crystal Visions Outfit

The shuttles can get pretty busy if you go at the same times as most of the crowds, so plan ahead if you want to skip the lines. I've never experienced the shuttles for myself, but I've heard horror stories about getting stuck in line for hours after the festival ends at sunrise. As much fun as it would be to stay until the end of the event, I'm also someone that would happily leave a little bit early to beat the crowds.

Rideshares and Taxis:

Uber and Lyft are a great option if you want something a bit more streamlined than the shuttle experience. While the shuttles are great, the luxury of a rideshare means that you don't have to stand in line to get on a shuttle on your way to and from the festival. However, these lines can get pretty lengthy as well and prices can skyrocket if you don't time your departures correctly.

Las Vegas also has tons of taxis available, and with the arrival of Uber several years ago taxis have had to get competitive with their prices. You might have a hard time finding a taxi at the Speedway to get back to the festival, but they can be a secret hack to saving some money on your way there each night.

Viper Vision Halter Cutout Bodysuit Outfit

Driving:

The drive to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is about 20-30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. This is a great option if you have a sober driver, though traffic can get pretty congested depending on when you're driving to or from the festival. General parking at EDC is free, though you can purchase premiere parking passes to get in and out of the lots a little bit easier.

Keep in mind that there are restrictions to parking. The festival doesn't allow tailgating and drinking alcohol in the parking lot is prohibited, as well as sleeping in your car or leaving your car at the festival once it ends.

EDC Las Vegas is just around the corner, and with the special rescheduled October date, things might look a little bit different on the strip and in Downtown Las Vegas compared to how they usually look in May when EDC takes place on a regular year. With that being said, Vegas is fun any time of year, and the new October date means that you get to experience Vegas during spooky season, so it's a great excuse to wear costumes out and about. Here are five things to do in Las Vegas during EDC week, either to prepare for the festival or enjoy the city while you're visiting.

Check Out the New Meow Wolf Omega Mart Exhibit

There is no better way to get in the trippy spirit before EDC than at Omega Mart. The brand new Meow Wolf exhibit opened earlier this year at Area 15 just off the Las Vegas Strip. The psychedelic art installation takes you through a fever dream of a grocery store concept before you're sucked into an alternate reality. Set aside a night to check out this installment and the other activities at Area 15 before the festival begins.

Visit a Las Vegas Club

Few things in Vegas are as famous as the nightlife. Even outside of EDC week, the club scene in Vegas has a little something for everyone. There's always the top clubs, like XS and Encore Beach Club, as well as Omnia, Hakkasan and the two newest clubs at the all new Resorts World Las Vegas, Zouk nightclub and Ayu day club.

Explore Downtown

Downtown Las Vegas may not have the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip, but it does have local favorites like a killer bar scene, the Downtown Arts District, and some of the original Las Vegas landmarks we all know and love. The area is also home to Life Is Beautiful festival, which takes place each September.

Celebrate Las Vegas Pride

Las Vegas is extremely hot in the summer, so many events that usually take place around then are moved to the spring and fall. Las Vegas Pride takes place in October, and although the bulk of the event is during the second weekend of October, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate Pride Month outside of the official festival. Catch a drag brunch on the strip or visit one of the many gay bars around the city.

With Coachella just days away, it's time to start thinking about what you're going to pack and how you're going to deal with the heat while you're in the desert. Coachella has a little bit of everything, and has everything you'll need to make the most of your time there, but there are some things you can do to make sure you're fully prepared in the days leading up, and for the days coming back. Here are 15 last minute Coachella tips to help you get the most out of your weekend:

1. Plan your schedule in the app.

The Coachella set times don't usually come out until a couple of days before the festival. We're about a week out right now and they're still not out, but that is to be expected with any major festival—especially with the last minute lineup changes we saw this year. Use the Coachella app to easily plan your experience and set reminders for your favorite artists. You can add the artists you want to see before the schedule comes out, and then change things as you need to once it's been released. There are tons of other features in the app as well, but this one is the most useful for planning ahead.

2. Bring the necessities.

Everyone has a different opinion on what the necessities are when you go to Coachella, and what you need might change day to day. Here are a few things I always make sure to have in my bag at any festival, whether it's my hotel bag or the actual bag I take into the event every day:

 • Sunscreen
 • Lip Balm
 • Mask (for the dust!)
 • Extra pair of sunglasses
 • Shoe inserts
 • An extra outfit or two just in case
 • Portable phone charger

3. Walk more in the days leading up to the festival.

I'm not telling you to exercise more in order to look your best at Coachella (though be my guest if you want to), but I am warning you to go on a walk or two before Coachella to give your feet a chance to get used to walking a lot. This is especially true if you work a desk job or just generally don't spend a lot of time standing up. Your feet will thank you later, and if you have a treadmill at home this is an excellent way to break in your Coachella shoes without getting them dirty.

4. Eat nourishing food in the days leading up to the festival.

Again, this is by no means weight loss advice. However, eating nourishing food in the days leading up to the festival will give you more energy and vitality once you're there. If you can continue eating pretty healthy while you're there—which is definitely possible since the food options at Coachella are pretty diverse—you're going to feel even better.

5. Have meetups planned ahead.

Phone service at major festivals can be pretty bad, especially once all of the crowds are there. Plan meetups ahead of time or have a plan of action if you get separated from your group. Sometimes it's fun to go solo when you get separated, but not everyone feels comfortable with that. Have a plan figured out just in case.

6. Don't worry about not getting into parties.

A lot of people will try to tell you that Coachella is all about the parties, or that Weekend 1 is the only good weekend to attend. My first Coachella experience was during Weekend 2 and I didn't go to any parties and had a great time regardless. You're going to have a great time no matter what you do, just don't get caught up in the FOMO because someone on Instagram looks like they're having a better time.

Golden Hour Fringe Outfit

7. Listen to new artists before the festival.

Part of the fun of Coachella is getting to see new artists and appreciate music you might not have checked out otherwise. Take some time over the next week or so to check out the artists on the lineup that you haven't heard before—you might just find your new favorite!

Lace Flowerfields Marabou Oufit

8. Clean your space so you have something to come home to.

I do this before any trip, but taking the time to clean your home as best as possible will make your return that much better. It's always nice to come home to a clean space—so at least make your bed and hide your dirty laundry.

Sparkling Spell Outfit

9. Know what kinds of services are available to you at the festival.

There are tons of services onsite at Coachella that are only there to make your experience as easy and fun as possible. A free shuttle service in the camping area, for example, will take you to a nearby grocery store for supplies if you need them.

Other services like the medical facility are there to keep you safe and healthy no matter what, so don't be afraid to stop in for a band aid, advil, or even mental health services.

Coachella offers a special care and support service called Every One, which is there to offer mental health and support services for attendees throughout the event. There are trained Every One team members all over the festival, and even a tent for you to retreat to if you need some quiet or mental health support. These services are available to anyone that needs them (for free) and offer mental health and harassment support.

10. Don't forget to take care of yourself while you're there.

No one is saying you can't go hard at Coachella, but you should take care of yourself while you're there. Take some time to stretch your body—maybe do some yoga in the mornings, drink plenty of water throughout the day, and get as much sleep as you can.

11. Bring plenty of snacks.

Whether you're camping or staying in a hotel/Airbnb, you're not going to want to go get snacks in between while you're at the festival throughout the weekend. Stop and get some snacks on your way to the desert to have at your campsite or in your hotel room—even if it's just some drinks.

Dreamwave Outfit

12. Plan extra time for travel.

Traffic at Coachella is no joke. Plan extra time for travel to and from the festival if you're staying in a hotel/Airbnb and even more extra time if you're in an uber or taking your own car. The shuttle service is a good way to get a pretty solid estimate on how long it will take to get there because it can bypass a lot of the individual traffic around the polo field, but even then you should expect it to take longer than any maps estimate will give you.

13. Overestimate your budget.

The one piece of advice I have for any trip is to overestimate how much you'll spend when you're there. Budget for drinks, impulse merch purchases, uber rides you don't expect to take, or other emergencies that may pop up. A lot of hotels will charge a security deposit during festivals, so it's a good idea to have a card that can cover that just in case.

14. Bring cash just in case.

Most festivals—especially Coachella—are pretty cashless these days. I can't think of too many scenarios where you'll absolutely need cash to get by, but it's always good to have just in case.

So you snagged tickets to Coachella this year? Congrats! You are, how they say: THRIVING. It is by far one of the most beautiful festivals, boasting a stacked and oh so eclectic lineup full of artists from genres you probably didn’t even know existed. No joke - the A&R folk at Coachella are quite masterful in their artist selection, in my honest and humble opinion. I find myself nearly salivating and gasping for air as I read the lineups each year and I do consider myself to be a virtual crate digger, if you will.

Getting to Coachella is tough. If you've managed to snag tickets already you were probably an overachiever in high school, but if not there is still hope for you. Aside from the tickets, there is a lot more to figure out and plan, but we've got you. Here is your Complete Coachella Planning Guide for 2022.

Weekend 1 or 2?

Coachella was famously one of the first festivals to do two weekends in a row with the same lineup. The two weekend-event lets more people attend the festival, and creates a different vibe for each weekend. The lineup is the same on both weekends, so you can go to either one and have more or less the same experience, but many people agree that Weekend 1 is best for celebrity sightings, special guest appearances and generally newsworthy surprises.

Tickets

Tickets to Coachella tend to sell out almost instantly. Weekend 1 usually sells out faster than Weekend 2, so even now there might be some tickets left for the second weekend if you're thinking about taking the plunge. Once individual tickets are sold out there are usually other options for getting tickets directly from the Coachella website (which is obviously the most trustworthy way to get tickets). I recommend checking out the hotel + ticket package options if you have a group of 2 or more interested in going.

The pass buying guide on the Coachella website will give you all of the information you need on how to get tickets.

Once you get tickets you'll need to secure a shuttle or camping pass separately. I recommend making your decision on where you're going to stay quickly, since hotels fill up fast and camping tends to sell out almost as quickly as the tickets themselves.

Pre-Festival

Let’s talk logistics. Although Coachella is a different beast than most festivals, you can take your existing festival expertise and apply it to how you prepare for Coachella as you find hotels or AirBNBs, plan your camping experience, or figure out the shuttle system. Perhaps there’s someone in your group that already has this all covered (lucky you!) but in case you don’t, here is what I would focus on first:

Where to Stay:

Hotels vs. Camping vs. Airbnb vs. RV

Camping: There are MANY camping options at Coachella, including but not limited to car camping (not to be confused with preferred car camping, which puts your car closer to the venue entrance), tent camping and for an astronomical price, including a ticket to Mars (kidding but maybe in the future that’ll be a thing!) – GLAMPING.

The camping options tend to sell out faster than the blink of an eye, so these options may not be available if you're planning a last minute YOLO trip. Bringing us to your next options or, maybe your first, (depending on the type of person you are) we have: off-site camping (which includes campgrounds vetted by Coachella) and hotels that double as shuttle stops.

Staying in a hotel is a great way to do Coachella, but keep in mind that the Palm Springs/Indio area is quite large, so you'll want to plan ahead on how you'll be getting to and from the festival. This also applies to AirBNB stays, which might even be a little more complicated since most of the shuttles go to and from hotels. An AirBNB is certainly a great option, and I would recommend finding the closest hotel shuttle stop to your AirBNB if walking to a shuttle stop is an option.

There are three main areas you'll have to choose from when picking a Coachella hotel or AirBNB since the Coachella valley is pretty big. You can stay in Palm Springs, the iconic town with lots of luxury hotel and resort options, and a lot of things to do outside of the festival. There are several hotels with shuttle stops in Palm Springs.

Your next option is to stay in the Palm Desert/Indian Wells/Indio area, which is closer to the festival but doesn't offer much in the way of local attractions. This is a great option if you're only planning on going to and from Coachella, and the hotels may be a bit more affordable (though keep in mind all hotels will have inflated prices during this time).

Finally your third option is to stay a little bit off the beaten path in Desert Hot Springs, a town just on the other side of Interstate 10 from Palm Springs and probably the furthest from the festival. There are several luxury resorts and affordable hotels in this area, so it might be a good option for last minute trips.

What to Pack:

This is by no means an exhaustive list on what to pack for Coachella, but here is a link to what is and isn't allowed at the festival on the Coachella website, as well as some details on what to expect from the weather and outfit inspiration. I always recommend packing extra clothes to any festival, including some more comfortable options.

Weather in the Palm Desert.

Indio, California is the literal desert SO, although you are in sunny, beautiful, amazing California, you WILL definitely experience some pretty significant temperature drops at night. The Palm Desert is pretty hot in the day, so make sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses and a cute festival hat. At night the temperatures can drop down to the mid to low 50’s, so you’ll definitely want to bring some layering options and blankets if you're camping. Check out our selection of outerwear to help put together an epic yet functional outfit!

Outfit Inspiration:

This is the thing that so many people (I would definitely not exclude myself) tend to obsess/dream/freak out/have nightmares about - and with good reason. I’m not going to lie and say that fashion isn’t a big deal at Coachella because it’s basically like the MET Gala of the music scene.

I truly believe that fashion is just an extension of who you are and should be used as a form of self-expression rather than this self-imposed pressure to be iconic at Coachella. Although a lot of people do show out for other festivals like EDC, Burning Man & Electric Forest, there is just something so different about the fashion at Coachella that is so unique and inspiring. Check out our guide on What to Wear To Coachella for more fashion inspo!

At Coachella

Coachella is pretty damn big on keeping everything very sustainable and eco-friendly, so much so that they partnered with a company called Global Inheritance to ensure that festivalgoers leave no trace and create a conscious experience for all. Read more about what it means to leave no trace here.

Getting around the Palm Desert:

Once you’re in the Palm Desert, there is definitely no shortage of ways of getting around. It’s worth it to peruse their “Getting Here” section of their website where they outline pretty much everything you need to know regarding travel. Here are some of the common travel options:

What airport to fly into?

The Coachella site provides a small list of airports, the first of which is the Palm Springs Airport. This airport is by far the closest (25 miles from the festival), with LAX being a close second, but you can also fly into Orange County, Burbank or San Diego but that’s quite the hike!

Although extremely convenient, flying into the Palm Springs airport may not be the most budget friendly, so make sure to do your research and hop on those deals quickly! If you do fly into any of the Los Angeles airports, expect to drive about 2 hours east on Interstate 10 to get to the Palm Desert. There are shuttle options through the festival, but you can also rent a car.

Or, you could try out a little thing called Carpoolchella: a reward system set up to incentivize Coachella attendees to minimize their carbon footprint by driving to Coachella together! Those who have done so in the past have had their entire passes upgraded to VIP FOR LIFE. No joke! It’s definitely worth looking into!

Golden Hour Fringe Outfit

Coachillin'

A few extra things to keep in mind to make the most out of your weekend:

 • Reserve a Locker: because temperatures drop, being hands free is a vibe and it really is so convenient. Keep your layers in a locker during the day for quick access when the sun goes down.
 • Budget: I’ve perused a few websites regarding how not to blow it all at Coachella, and the general consensus seems to be that if you aren’t camping, you could be spending a good $50-$75 per day on food and drinks. If you’re camping (or even if you’re not), you can save money on food by taking the free supermarket shuttle to pick up some groceries. If you’re not camping, taking a shuttle will definitely be less expensive than taking an Uber or a Lyft, renting a car, etc.

One of the best things about Coachella is that it's so interactive. There is almost too much to do, from the parties scattered throughout the valley to the art installments hidden in the festival grounds! If you're heading to Coachella this year, here are some must-do things that you need to check out.

Woodland Fairy Outfit

Day Club Palm Springs

There are tons of parties to check out throughout Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley during the festival weekend. While some are more exclusive than others, parties like Day Club Palm Springs only require you to buy a ticket! Day Club is a great spot to check out if you're staying in the Palm Springs area and want to relax by the pool and enjoy a party before heading to the festival. Headliners range yearly, but you can expect a stacked lineup with artists that may or may not be on the Coachella festival lineup!

Lace Flowerfields Beaded Outfit

Rhonda, Queen of the Desert

A Club Called Rhonda is another must-do party if you can check out any parties in the valley during Coachella weekend. Rhonda parties in LA are always a great time, and the annual desert event during Coachella weekend is a refreshing oasis away from the festival's hustle.

Golden Hour Fringe Outfit

Neon Carnival

Yet another party that you have to check out if you're hitting the party circuit, Neon Carnival is one of the weekend's biggest events. With tons of installments to check out, music events, and a more rave-y vibe, Neon Carnival is your little sample of EDC at Coachella.

Midnight Sparkle Sequin Outfit

The Yuma Tent

Where else do you go when you're at the height of the heat in the middle of the day? The Yuma Tent, of course. The Yuma Tent is your little dark, air-conditioned oasis in the heat of the Coachella desert. It's the perfect place to escape the heat and enjoy some of the best techno the Coachella lineup offers. Don't forget to make a stop here throughout the weekend.

Lace Flowerfields Dress Outfit

The Do-Lab

Of all of the stages at Coachella, one stands out with the most unique vibes. The Do-Lab is a pop-up stage at the back of the festival grounds that always has a party going on. Enjoy the good vibes, the misting machines, and the colorful tent as you bounce to house music and enjoy one of the most laidback parts of Coachella.

Lace Flowerfields Marabou Outfit

Antarctic

Another air-conditioned paradise, the Antarctic tent is a fun spot to check out as you explore the festival throughout the weekend. Usually tucked behind the food area next to the Coachella stage, this is a great spot to stop in as you investigate all the festival has to offer!

Dimensional Daze Outfit

The Food

One of the things you absolutely can't miss at Coachella is the food. Some of California's best food spots bring their menus to the festival to make the weekend an ultimate experience for any foodie. Sure festival food might be expensive, but if you're going to treat yourself, treat yourself to fresh sushi, nutritious bowls, and artisan drinks!

Rolita Couture X iHR Super Wonky Whimsical Outfit

The Art

Part of what makes Coachella so memorable is its art installments. The famous installments are a festival season staple, like the balloon arch that lights up at night or the giant rainbow walkway that stands tall in the desert. You can't miss the art, but take some time to walk around and check it out throughout the weekend—you won't be disappointed!

Pink Fizz Outfit

The Rides

If you're into ferris wheels, check out the famous Coachella ferris wheel to get a bird's eye view of everything at the festival. We recommend checking it out both day and night to get a sense of the different vibes as the festival changes throughout the day. The line can be long, so grab a lemonade or a snack on your way and enjoy the good vibes as you sit back and relax and see the view!

Lover Girl Outfit

Pop-Ups

Coachella is known for its brand partnerships, and if you keep an eye out you can get a lot of freebies throughout the weekend. American Express holders can usually expect some kind of perk or even a pop-up event to check out inside the festival itself, or keep an eye out for things like hair styling stations or makeup events inside the festival grounds. Different brands will bring different pop-ups every year, so keep your eyes peeled for what's to come this year!

Camping festivals can be really fun. Going on a road trip with your friends, setting up camp next to people that could likely become your new rave fam, and not having to worry about getting to and from your hotel for an entire weekend is something you just can't beat. But camping is hard, especially if you're not a veteran camper outside of the festival scene. After seven years of going to Burning Man—the week-long camping festival in the middle of a dry lake bed in Nevada—I've learned a secret or two about getting the most out of the experience. Here are my ten festival camping tips from a veteran burner:

Mushroom Fiesta Outfit

1. Stake your tent down

You would be surprised how powerful the wind can be. Staking your tent down is an easy step you can take to avoid coming back to camp at the end of the night only to find that your tent is gone. Odds are low that someone stole it, but high that it could have blown away. This happened to a friend of mine who brought a large dome tent to Coachella and forgot to stake it down. Don't be like him!

2. Bring baby wipes

You might not have access to a shower while you're at a camping festival. Even if it's just for a few days, all of that dancing and sweating will leave you feeling pretty gross after just a day. Freshen up with baby wipes in between showers to at least get the dirt and sweat off of you. Just don't drop them in the port-a-potties!

Deep Night Reflective Outfit

3. Be mindful of your waste

Burning man is a Leave No Trace festival, and while not every festival has adopted that same principal, it's a good idea to be mindful of how much waste you'll create while camping at a festival. Just in case you're stuck with a car full of trash bags on your way out, remove any excess packaging from things you're bringing with you before your arrival.

4. Bins > Suitcases

One of the easiest ways to pack a bunch of stuff without wasting space is to avoid using a suitcase and use a storage bin instead. For a three-day camping festival you'll probably be able to fit most of your things in a single bin, which can then stack easily in your car for easy packing. Plus, you don't have to worry about getting your suitcase dirty.

Electric Ecstasy Marabou Outfit

5. Be realistic about food

I've had years at Burning Man where I've brought too much food, and I've had years where I didn't bring enough food to last the week. Think realistically about how much you eat before you go grocery shopping for a camping festival, and maybe assume you'll eat a little bit less during the hustle of the weekend. Or, if there are food options available at the festival itself, maybe just stick to some snacks and avoid prepping meals altogether.

6. Bring tons of lights

Like...all kinds of lights. Some camping festivals can get pretty dark in the camping area. Dirtybird Campout, for example, doesn't always light the camping area after it gets dark. Bring a flashlight to keep in your bag, or a headlamp for a hands-free light option (or both). I also like to wrap my tent in some battery powered LED wire (you can get it on Amazon) so I can easily spot my tent from far away at night.

Frolicking Fantasy Floral Sequin Outfit

7. Bring more socks than you think you'll need

I like to bring 3 pairs of socks per day just in case. You'll definitely want to switch your day socks off as you head into the night time, but I like to have an extra pair of clean socks for bed time just in case it gets cold.

8. Bring an added shade structure

Your tent is good for sleeping, but during the day you'll want a shade structure to chill in once it gets too hot to sit in your tent.

9. Don't forget camping chairs

You're going to thank yourself if you bring camping chairs. Camping festivals are a 24-hour experience, so having a place to sit and chill when you're not dancing or exploring the festival is a must. You can even bring blow up furniture to save space in your car.

Shroomy Shimmer Marabou Outfit

10. Don't forget tools

It's easy to remember the things you're excited to use—like your new savormeditation outfits or your body glitter—but don't forget the necessities. Double check before you leave that you have any necessary tools to set up and maintain your camp. This can include things like a rubber mallet for your tent stakes (and your tent stakes), Duct Tape just in case, extra batteries, and an air mattress pump.

Relentless Beats revives their 2024 edition of PHXLIGHTS as PHXIGHTS: Supernova this March 29-30 located at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona! Inspired by Arizona’s most famous UFO sighting, ‘The Phoenix Lights,' this festival unleashes ravers to tastemaker future bass with a space-inspired soundscape, galactic-themed art installations, and stage production designed to emulate spaceships among electronic dance music ethers.

Event and Lineup

This year’s lineup creates its own altered orbit as it incorporates more B2B performances and completely new names to ever appear on the lineup. Night 1 debuts Seven Lions, NGHTMRE, goddard., and SABAI to begin your journey across the galaxy! NIght 2 continues the trip to the moon and back with artists Kaskade, Dr. Oliver Tree, Alleycvt, Apashe, and more for this annual diamond planet experience.

Both nights will feature must-see B2B performance from JOYRYDE B2B Habstrakt and Deorro B2B Valentino Khan in their rarest form of fusing their sound to create an out-of-this-world performance you can’t find at every major festival.

Three stages (or flying saucers) will station on the raceway: The Mothership Stage AKA the main stage, The Fallout Silent Disco, and The Invasion Stage. The Fallout Silent Disco presented by Evo Vapes highlights local house and bass artists such as PRETTYHARD and Dominatrix to name a few–words to the wise: there’s a disco ball on the dance floor at this particular stage!

Similar to last year, Beatbox showcases The Invasion Stage with more local artists like BLVCKROSE and Seppi. The classic Voodoo Ranger 1UP Arcade should be a stop on your trail to the Milky Way if you’re in the mood to play games, win games, and try their new Hardcharged Tea!

View the full lineup to plan your performance schedule now. Single-day passes are available starting at $80, while two-day passes are priced at $150.

Travel and Hotels

Ticket and hotel packages are unavailable for this event. After landing at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (PHX) and checking into a nearby hotel, a 30-minute uber ride is required to arrive at Phoenix Raceway. Goodyear, Arizona is a neighboring city with plenty of hotels and access to ubers/rideshare. In fact, Goodyear is closer to Phoenix Raceway than Phoenix.

Arriving and exiting the event with a designated driver and vehicle is the best case scenario for transportation as parking is always free; premium parking is available. Plus, uber rides may become too expensive at 2am or not enough drivers are able to complete your transformation request (speaking from experience).

Relentless Beats offers shuttle packages for roundtrip transportation from Downtown Tempe which is 25 minutes away from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. If absolutely necessary, it can be wise to buy a shuttle pass and request an Uber transportation from the shuttle stop in Tempe because Tempe is a college town with many Lyft/Ubur drivers ready to bring you home! Single-day and 2-day shuttle passes range from $49-$75.

PHXLIGHTS attendees partake in their own secret handshake in festival fashion as it encourages the alien, astronomical, and extraterrestrial lovers to dress for this otherworldly theme! Finally, the spring festivals are coming back to us after a couple of years away. One of my favorite early-Spring festivals is Get Lucky, a St. Patrick's Day themed festival in Salt Lake City that brings on the positive vibes for the start of the festival season.

Headliners for the 2024 Get Lucky Festival include names like Flux Pavilion, San Holo, What So Not, Destructo, Dillon Francis, Dr. Fresch, and Cannabliss to name just a few. The event takes place at The Great Saltair, which is located right on the Great Salt Lake and offers some killer sunsets. This year the festival is on March 11 and 12th. You can get tickets here.

What to Wear to Get Lucky Festival

If you haven't been to Utah in the early-Spring you should know that it is still quite cold. The weather isn't freezing, but it's definitely not warm. I recommend bringing a jacket to wear outside of the venue and around the grounds, as Get Lucky often has an outdoor tent that can get a bit cold.

The lineup vibes are all about house music, so wear something you can shuffle in that also goes with the green vibes of the festival theme. Here are some pieces from savormeditation that I recommend for Get Lucky Festival:

Trippy Treats Top and Cutout Bell Bottoms
Fairytale Forest Sequin Top and Skirt
Ignite My Fire Fishnet Outfit
Melty Fantasy Bell Bottoms
Burn Bright Outfit
High Frequency Outfit
Trippy Treats Outfit
Flower Outfit

Fingers CRSSD for the ultimate dance filled weekend! Grab your festi besties and let’s get to shuffling out on the dance floor! CRSSD Festival is a two-day event located in the heart of San Diego. The venue is located at San Diego’s Waterfront Park. The festival is taking place on Saturday March 5th, and Sunday March 6th.

The lineup includes lots of artists in the house and techno genre. Whether you like techno, house, or are into seeing some live acts, CRSSD festival has it all. Check out the lineup below!

The Venue

The venue is a green grass-filled dance floor surrounded by palm trees. The location is bayside which gives off some amazing vacation vibes. It also has water fountains and small pond areas where festivalgoers are allowed to go in to cool down or take a little break from dancing.

The average temperatures for that time of year range between 66-75 degrees during the day, and between 53-56 degrees at night. It can feel pretty chilly, so I recommend wearing a light jacket or long sleeve top/long pants.

The festival is full of some amazing food and drink vendors so you won’t have to worry about planning your meals before or after the show! All the vendors are a cashless payment option so make sure you bring your cards to make payments for your favorite tasty drinks or food.

There are also options to buy a single day or a two day locker rental if you would like to take a break from carrying your personal items, merch, or jackets. The lockers are priced around $20-$25 per day.

Travel

If you are driving into the festival, make sure you take some time to find some parking. There are not many places surrounding the area to leave your personal vehicles, but the venue is completely accessible by using rideshare options.

The venue is also surrounded by many hotels that are within walking distance, which will save you a lot of time trying to get your ride secured. The best options for hotels nearby would be Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Wyndham San Diego Downtown/ Bayside, Pacific Inn Hotel & Suites, Best Western Plus Bayside. These options are reasonably priced and no more than 5-7 minutes of walking.

If you’re traveling by plane the best airport to fly into would be the San Diego International Airport as it is only 10-15 minutes away. Everything in the San Diego metro area is pretty centrally located, so if you're flying in and staying in or near downtown, I wouldn't worry about renting a car.

Tickets

Tickets for the festival start at $239 + fees, which includes two-day entry for both Saturday and Sunday. Single day tickets are also available for $130!

CRSSD Spring 2024 is kicking off our spring festival season with all the House and Techno your heart desires. The festival is happening March 2-3 at San Diego Waterfront Park, in California. Featuring Tale Of Us, Lane 8, Richie Hawtin + many more

This location is perfect to show off your cute outfits you’ve been wanting to show off a little more of, but still be able to layer up at night in your favorite long sleeve or jacket.

The average temperatures in San Diego are between 64-68 degrees during the day, and about 52-55 degrees at night. The ocean breeze makes it a little colder at night since the location is bayside, so plan accordingly. Our site is full of cute new styles of jackets, chaps and coverups for the lower nighttime temperatures.

When styling my rave outfit, I like to take my favorite matching top and bottom pieces and add chaps, or mesh pants to keep my legs warm. Then I like to add a mesh crop top, or long sleeve, to give that added warmth to your body, but still look amazing! Add it all together with your favorite accessories, and glitter!

Locker rentals are available onsite so you can always bring your favorite pieces from our collection and have them ready to go when you are feeling a bit chilly.

If you’re having some trouble finding ideas to wear, here are my top pieces that I would wear to CRSSD fest:

Burn Bright Outfit
Voltage Vixen Outfit
Drop The Beat Recycled Fabric Outfit
Happy Hour Reflective Men's Outfit

]]>
One of the biggest festivals of the season is always at the very start of festival season with Ultra Music Festival Miami. With a full week of music-related events and conferences, Miami Music Week is the place to be in the early Spring if you're a music lover looking to get away to some warmer weather. Ultra Music Festival is a global festival series with events around the world, year round, but most people are referring to Ultra Miami when they talk about the event.

About Ultra Music Festival

Ultra Music Festival Miami will go from March 22-24 2024, and will take place in Bayfront Park, its iconic location. The annual all-electronic music event is filled with acts from just about every genre. With classic acts like Tiesto and David Guetta to up and coming innovators like Pauline Herr and Miss Monique, there is a little bit of everything for the OG ravers and the newcomers.

Tickets to Ultra Music Festival are very close to being sold out, so if you haven't gotten your ticket yet I would act quickly, since this festival sells out often. You can check out the full lineup below:

Traveling to Ultra Music Festival

Getting to Ultra Music Festival is pretty easy compared to other festivals that might require a flight and then a long drive. You can fly directly into Miami International Airport which is a short drive from the Downtown area that the festival is located in. Miami is known for its hotel scene, so there are hundreds of places to choose from that fit just about any budget.

If you're looking to experience different parts of Miami while you're in town for Ultra, there are lots of options that will change the vibe of your trip. Here is a guide on the different areas that you can stay in while in Miami based on the trip you want to have. If you want...

Nightlife, Art & Urban Energy

There's no place like around downtown if you want to rage for all of Miami Music Week. Iconic clubs like Space and E11EVEN are just a few blocks away from Bayfront Park and are easily accessible to the hotels in the area. With lots of public transportation options and a centralized urban space, the neighborhoods around downtown Miami are perfect if you don't want to worry about getting around.

I recommend staying in Brickell or Wynwood for easy access to Ultra Music Festival and downtown Miami clubs. Brickell is a bit more upscale while Wynwood is known for its art scene. If you want to be right next to the festival, you can't get any closer than downtown hotels like the InterContinental Miami, the YOTEL Miami, or the YVE Hotel which are all within 1-2 blocks of Bayfront Park.

Entertainment & Beaches

For easy access to the beach you'll need to stay in the Miami Beach area. South Beach has tons of cute and affordable boutique hotels and hostels, while North Beach has luxury mega resorts. Both areas have access to the iconic Miami Beach and are a fun place to stay if you want to hang out on the beach, bike around on a rental bike or just relax by the pool during the mornings.

At night Miami Beach is known for its nightlife, so there will be plenty to do if you want to keep going once Ultra shuts down. This area can get pretty busy with traffic since it's a small island so plan ahead as you plan how to get to/from Bayfront Park for the festival, and remember it's around a 20 minute drive without traffic.

Cuban Culture

Few cultures have left an impact on Miami quite like Cuban culture. If you want a unique but fun experience on your trip to Miami I recommend staying in Little Havana. Check out the street art and food options around the iconic Calle Ocho, and stay in one of the many affordable but picturesque hotels. The trip to Bayfront Park is around 18-20 minutes without traffic as the area is located just east of Brickell, and the area will likely be more affordable than Miami Beach during Miami Music Week.

Miami Music Week

Ultra concludes a full week of music events around Miami during what is called Miami Music Week. The event is partly for the industry as the annual Winter Music Conference usually takes place throughout the week, with events at night and around Miami for both music lovers and industry figures. It's a great place to network if you're trying to get into the music industry.

For the rave babes, events at clubs like Club Space and E11EVEN are unmatched. House and Techno deep cuts like Rebolledo, Maceo Plex and Drumcode are some of the acts that will play at Space this Miami Music Week, along with favorites like Diplo are also on the bill. These events are not included in an Ultra Music Festival ticket, but are worth checking out if you can get in.

What to Wear to Ultra Music Festival

The vibe for Ultra Music Festival is spacey, techno beach vibes. Does that make sense? Like, think Matrix meets beach club. Miami is pretty warm in late-March so you don't need to worry about layers. When you're packing, make sure to bring a swimsuit and lots of SPF along with you. At the festival itself, we have a guide to help you plan the perfect look for each day. Our Ultra collection features a set of pieces that are perfect for Ultra Music Festival Miami. Check it out below:

Winter festivals can be particularly fun if you go to the right ones. Cruise festivals, which are unique to the winter festival season, are among those. Since we don't have Holy Ship! to look forward to anymore (RIP), other festivals like Groove Cruise have popped up to take its place. Groove Cruise is by far the biggest cruise festival going on right now, and with a killer 2022 lineup it's the perfect way to escape the winter for a fun, late-January trip. Here's everything u need to know about Groove Cruise:

The Basics:

There are three iterations of the Groove Cruise event, but if you're looking for a rave boat you'll want Groove Cruise Orlando, which kicks off in January 2024, but you can also start booking your 2025 trip at the event website here

Rates for the cruise range, but are pretty affordable. The 2022 cruise ranged from $850 to $1200 depending on what kind of cabin and amenities you wanted. You could pick from a standard cabin, or upgrade to a larger cabin or additional food and drink options for a few hundred more.

Groovin' Bloomin' Outfit

The Destination:

Part of the experience of Groove Cruise is raving at sea, but you will get to dock in the Grand Bahamas at Private Cove. The destination is a picturesque tropical island beach with activities like zip lining and snorkeling available. It's a great way to get some traveling done this year while going to a rave with your besties.

Kool Shrooms Rainbow Reflective Outfit

Do I need a passport?

Groove Cruise departs from Orlando but travels to The Bahamas, meaning you will need a passport and possibly a visa depending on what country your passport is issued from. Keep in mind that you may also need to have a negative COVID-19 test depending on the local laws of the Bahamas. Keep up to date on the latest travel advisories for the Bahamas here.

The Lineup:

The best part of Groove Cruise by far is the lineup. With headliners like Claude Vonstroke, Clozee, Gorgon City and Walker & Royce and Haliene, SQXO, Wreckno and J. Worra also on the lineup it's going to be a rager.

Red Hot Raver Outfit

What to Wear:

Get ready to wear cute summer fits again without having to worry about covering up for the cold! The warm tropical weather is the perfect place to try out new styles for the 2022 festival season, so shop the latest looks at savormeditation and refresh your rave wardrobe for the summer. Of all of the Utah festivals, Transmit is the one that will have you in your feels the most. Other fests like Get Funky bring the vibes, while Get Freaky has everything a basshead could ever want, but for the trance fam, there is nothing like the laidback and melodic energy that comes with Transmit. This year the Transmit lineup brings massive performances from Lane 8, Kasablanca, and Sultan and Shephard along with supporting performances from Luttrell, Jerome Isma-ae, and Eric Hill.

How to go to Transmit

Like most Utah Festivals, Transmit will be at The Great Saltair just west of Downtown Salt Lake. This year the festival will take place on November 25, 2023 which means that you'll want to dress warm since Utah can be pretty cold in the late-Fall.

Tickets for Transmit start at $50 and cap out at $80, making it a pretty affordable festival to see 6 amazing artists at. You can grab tickets and more information about Transmit from the Transmit SLC website here

What to wear to Transmit

Like I said before, Transmit is happening in the colder months! You can always brave it and wear your normal rave fits since it will probably be indoors, but if you're someone who hates being cold, that's ok too! We have lots of cute pieces to channel ur inner trance family feels while staying warm. Here are some of my top picks for Transmit 2023:

Bass Canyon is one of my favorite festivals because it brings those classic Pacific Northwest festival vibes and has some of my favorite music. The festival kicks off this weekend, and here is what you need to know if this is your first trip to Bass Canyon:

What is Bass Canyon?

Bass Canyon is one of Excision’s curated festivals and is home to some of the biggest bass names in the industry. This is Bass Canyon’s 3rd year at the gorge and is back and bigger than ever. With over 25,000 attendees, this festival is famous for bone-rattling bass with an incredible view.

Where is Bass Canyon?

Bass Canyon takes place at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State between August 18-20th. The Gorge Amphitheatre is rated the #1 most beautiful outdoor venue in the country, and you’ll see why as soon as you walk over that hill.

Who is playing at Bass Canyon?

The lineup is packed with world renowned DJs and Producers. There will be a total of 3 stages! They will be called the Main Stage, Hilltop Stage and the Locals Stage. The Main Stage will feature Excision, Dion Timmer, Ganja White Knight + many more! Check out the lineup below.

The local lineup is INSANE! It is home to many PNW locals and will definitely be worth checking out.

What should I wear to Bass Canyon?

Feel free to check out our guide on what to wear to raves that has links to all of the latest style secrets! Keep in mind, the venue does get cold at night, so make sure to pack a warm change of clothes for when the sun goes down. There will be lockers available to stash your clothes inside the venue.

Most importantly, you will be doing a LOT of walking—so make sure to wear sensible walking shoes. The “Bag Policy” at the Gorge changed for this event so make sure your bag is smaller than 12’’ x 12’’ x 6” and it has to be clear! (Hydration packs are okay but they must have a clear bladder). Fanny packs will not be allowed if they are not clear.

What should I bring to Bass Canyon?

Bass Canyon is a camping festival, so come prepared. There are hotels about 45 minutes away but the majority of attendees will be camping. If you are camping, check out our guide to preparing for camping festivals here. There are food vendors inside the festival as well as in the campground so snacks are fine until you get inside.

]]>
As a Utah native I've been a longtime Das Energi fan. The annual festival takes place on the shores of the Great Salt Lake and has a great vibe unlike any other electronic festival in the area. I've watched this festival grow from a tiny single-day event into the multi-day experience that it is now. The headliners for Das Energi are always pretty diverse, including a mix of classic DJs that are always on your list with some newer acts to check out. I've discovered so much new music at this festival and seen my favorite DJs play for years now.

This year the lineup features a list of diverse headliners with DJ Snake, Porter Robinson, and Anna Lunoe. The full lineup is a solid mix of house music, drum and bass and bass music, with acts like Excision, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead and plenty more. You can check out the full lineup below and on the website here.

Tickets for Das Energi range from $235 for a 2-day GA to $350 for a 2-day VIP. The VIP tickets are for ages 21+ and include special merch, better viewing access at several stages, and more. You can also get GA wristbands for single days, which are $125 on the ticketing website.

The Venue

The Saltair venue is right on the beach of the Great Salt lake, so one of the stages and the food trucks are on the beach itself. You'll want to plan accordingly with your footwear to be able to walk in the sand to get the full experience. I also recommend getting there before sunset since the sunsets at the Saltair are pretty unreal.

The venue itself is located about 20 minutes west of Salt Lake, right off of the I-80 freeway. You can get there quickly by taking the freeway. The parking situation at the festival tends to change each year, so anticipate that you might have to take a parking shuttle. In the past this has added as much as 30 minutes to the process of getting into the festival. Das Energi is pretty small, so once you're in the door you can get from stage to stage in just a few minutes.

Where to Stay

If you don't live in Utah there are lots of awesome places to stay. Salt Lake is pretty easy to get around, and since the venue is a little bit out of the way I recommend staying downtown to get the most out of your travel experience while staying closer to the event. You can also stay at the airport hotels, but there might not be much around there in the way of food or other nearby things to check out.

Downtown Salt Lake has tons of great food spots and local stores. During Das Energi weekend I recommend checking out Roctaco, Pretty Bird, Eva's Bakery, and Spitz for places to eat. You can also check out Icono Clad for last minute festival gear and shopping. From downtown you can easily Uber or Lyft to Das Energi. It should be pretty affordable and it will only take maybe 20 minutes to get to the festival from that area. Plus, you won't have to deal with parking.

Shuttles

Das Energi is located about 30 minutes west of Downtown Salt Lake. The festival has no public transportation nearby, but there are many options for ride-share apps, taxis, or the festival shuttle. You can grab a shuttle from Downtown or the hotels at the Salt Lake City airport. Get your shuttle pass here before it's too late!

Rolita Couture X iHR Mesmeria Punk Fringe Bodysuit

At Das Energi

Das Energi has grown so much over the years that each year is so much different from the last. Each year the festival adds more vendors and food trucks, so the choices are always different and get more diverse each year. I always recommend you get the chicken strips from the Saltair food stand inside, since they're so popular. You can get alcoholic drinks upstairs, but check on the bag requirements before you head to the festival because the Utah liquor laws can be pretty complicated.

Lockers

You can rent a locker onsite at Das Energi to store your things while you rave. Charging ports to plug your phone into are included in the locker rental (minus the cord), and you can purchase lockers online before the fest or at the venue when you get there. Rent a locker here

Electric Escape Outfit

What to Wear to Das Energi

Weather at Das Energi is always pretty hot, but it has been known to rain in the past. Dress for hot weather but remember that it's in the desert, so it might get chilly at night. I've included a bunch of things I recommend wearing throughout this article, but you can get creative with your rave looks! If you don't know where to start, take this quiz to find out ur rave vibe.

More

]]>
One of EDM’s most renowned festivals, curated in careful creativity from the famous Ocular Organ to The Time Travel Agency Scavenger Hunt, the annual Electric Forest embraces the hearts and souls of new members joining the Forest Family as well as returning loyalty members who have made Sherwood Forest in Rothbury, Michigan—a home away from home.

As every year’s theme welcomes new additions to the experience, The Dream Emporium inducted this year’s comforting yet motivational message: Dare to Dream

A Surreal Start to the Summer Solstice

The summer solstice began on June 21st when early arrival took place and the campsite was ready for a weekend of ether magic. June 22nd was the welcome day of a weekend destined with bursting sun that wouldn't fall until almost 10pm every night. Nearly 24 hours of music between the official stages, after parties (afters), and Lucky Lake swimming parties was a lineup crafted for those in search of breaking into their feral nature.

Pixie houses leading to Sherwood Court sheltered crystals/gems, rings, bracelets, and origami folded birds. The Giving Tree past the The Ranch Stage was surrounded with crowds of generosity prepared to give sunglasses, stickers, condoms, and even a whole vibration pack nudged onto a high branch for someone who lost their hydration pack.

Returning to the tree to find the item thankfully taken and appreciated by someone else was fulfilling based only on the satisfaction of giving without return. Giving without the expectation of return was one of the many lessons Electric Forest teaches in its novelty experiences.

Despite 30,000 steps or more each day, a rain storm, possible sunburn, and palpable dust in the night’s atmosphere, was a recipe for congestion or wook flu. It didn’t matter to many because the communion of song and dance provided a rebirth of spiritual connection or tree-hugging magnificence.

On night 1, Odesza entranced the Forest Family beginning their set with “Intro” continued with their talented drumline and fireworks for their finale. On night 2, DIESEL vibrated the microphone at The Tripolee Stage with a request to “open the pit."

On night 3, Disco Lines performed a genre-blending set of a lifetime at The Carosel Stage with his hyper house style heard in ”MDMA” mixed with moments of heavy bass which caused the crowd to collectively scream in a “woah."

At the same time at The Ranch Stage, Zeds Dead remixed Destiny’s Child songs such as “Say My Name” and “Bills, Bills, Bills” with irresistible basslines to dense lasers. It was breathtaking to find the lasers also dancing on the tall pine trees in latterns at Sherwood Court.

My favorite performance from the entire weekend was Space Wizard’s fusion of dubstep and space bass on day 3. Feeling thankful to have seen a headliner on my bucket list, he ended his set advising the Forest Family, “Follow your dreams. I used to work at Walmart."

Dressed for the Pines

In “Forest Fashion," mushroom fairies dressed in pearl-laced red and white spotted mushroom cap hats and fluffy petticoat skirts were present across the stages.

Creative characters curated their individual DIY/hand-sewn outfits you couldn’t witness at just any rave: jewel crowns, tinsel jackets, Mad Hatter hats, crochet skirt sets. Walking between the stages you could hear multiple Hulk Holgans in costume warming up to you with a deep grunting of the timeless phrase “hell yeah, brother”.

Rainbow-printed outfits and eyeshadow were another expression to celebrate Pride month. My personal favorite styled look included The Cuckoo Clock Fairies walking along the path around a The Observatory to Sherwood Court in spreading the imaginative energy in every “CUCKOO!” separated by the wall of their birdhouse-shaped helmets.

The Dream Emporium

The Dream Emporium was a never-ending channel of doors directing to rooms with a roller rink, a pastel pink cake and characters emulating the set from Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, a domination room with a domme, a human car wash, and a birth canal.

In the birth canal, a pastor guided groups with affirmations, “I accept myself. Today is my re-birthday and today I am here to dance and celebrate”. After, the birth canal lead to an igloo with a DJ mixing 80s dance hits such as “Funkytown” by Lipps Inc. dazzled with blue led ice cube art installations.

Visiting The Dream Emporium was necessary to complete the Time Travel Agency Scavenger Hunt. Accomplishing the scavenger hunt awards you with a limited edition button pin and access to a secret door in The Dream Emporium and access to a hidden speakeasy.

Dare to Dream was printed on the pin to remind attendees of that simple yet powerful philosophy everyone needs to hear once in a while.

Evol Afters of Experimental Music

The rumor of days becoming nights only to become morning again are beautifully true. It’s a guaranteed promise of a dance between music, trees, and morning birds.

The after parties (afters) began at 3:15am and ended at nearly 8am. The two stages accompanied with four mountains of Hennesey Sound speakers provided were located directly next to each other for EDM history to take place.

Champagne Drip performed a techno set and a DNB set to remain known as his alias, Champagne Trip. On Day 2, Peekaboo B2B Ganja White Night started the party followed by TRUTH performing during the 6am sunrise.

On night 3, SVDDEN DEATH finished a VOYD set at Sherwood Court then performed a house set in a pair of shades during the late hours of the night. Of course, ravers also wore shades in anticipation for the sun. Dark with riddim yet delicious with his nonstop rhythm, it was a house set designed for the vampires ending before sunrise.

My personal tip for any after: bringing a small blanket preferably with a kitten print and comfortable shoes is the way to bring the comfort of your bed with you. Party on, my feral friends.

The Forest Family once again exited Rothbury changed from soul-nourishment moments bestowed from the dance floor, ultimately leaving more grateful and hopeful than before.

Until Electric Forest 2024, Forest Family—dare to dream!

Spring and early summer at The Great Saltair is a great time to catch the sunset—and after a heavy winter, a few mosquito bites. This year Get Funky Festival, which happened over June 23 and 24, celebrated the start of the summer in the best way possible: with great music, great vibes, and great views.

As a younger raver I used to complain about The Great Saltair. While it may not technically be abandoned, it's an old warehouse that certainly gives off that impression when you walk in. Today's Saltair is much different than it was when I first attended events there over 10 years ago. At Get Funky, the venue premiered a new multi-story viewing deck from the back of the outdoor amphitheater, which gives a stunning view of the crowd, stage, mountains, and shores of the Great Salt Lake from above.

With several festivals throughout the year, what V2 and The Great Saltair was missing in the past was a chill music festival that offered a lineup of only house and techno artists. Festivals like Get Freaky in the fall and Get Lucky in the spring offer lineups of the biggest dubstep and EDM acts, respectively, and the late-summer Das Energi Festival brings a cornucopia of electronic artists across all genres. But if there's one thing that I can tell you about desert raves, it's that house music hits different. Thankfully, V2 started Get Funky just a few years ago.

The Lineup

With sets from major players like Chris Lake, Dom Dolla, Tokimonsta, and Walker & Royce, V2 was able to transform the shores of the Great Salt Lake from a quiet desert oasis into a bustling, funky dancefloor where people couldn't stop dancing for two days.

Some of the highlights of the lineup were Lee Foss and Walker & Royce, who gave us a taste of what Desert Hearts and some of the other transformational festivals have to offer. The community these artists bring is something special and unique, and I was happy to see these vibes at Get Funky throughout the weekend!

As a smaller festival, V2 always seems to put extra attention into curating a unique lineup that stands out against the bigger events throughout the summer. This year's Get Funky brought killer sets not just from its headliners, but its openers too! Blossom and Honey Luv played fun sets that kept the crowd moving from start to finish.

The Festival

With only one stage this year, you would think that crowds would want to spend some time exploring the festival grounds. Like I said before, house music hits different, and I noticed that most people ended up hanging out in the grass or in the new concrete area at the back of the mainstage.

The chill vibes at Get Funky made it feel much different from other Saltair raves, which seemed apparent to everyone around. The crowds were never tightly packed, and everyone on the dancefloor seemed happy to share their space with others.

What Get Funky lacked, however, was more seating areas or spaces to just sit and hang out. V2 did a great job of providing lots of things to explore and hang out on at Das Energi in 2022, including food trucks. Get Funky is much smaller, but it would be awesome to see V2 expand it in the future to something similar to its late-summer festival.

Overall, Get Funky is one festival that I would not miss in the future! With easy access to downtown, getting there and back was a breeze. The venue recently implemented a new parking strategy that let you pay in advance, which made the process much faster and somehow made it easier to get out at the end of the night. If you're in the area, make sure to check out Get Funky in the future. If you're not, make a trip out of it! You'll be amazed with what you find.

This year’s event will take place for the third year in a row at Empower Field at Mile High (in the parking lot of Bronco Stadium). Getting to this location is super easy and affordable! Art installations / performers

I love wandering the festival grounds at each fest and experiencing the different art and performers. It really makes the event feel so much more magical! This year, GDF will have art installations that are both returning and new installations that are “carefully curated for an experience to spark the imaginations.” Additionally, there are set to be tons of performers in creative costumes roaming the fest, including dancers, stilters, circus performers and more. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this!

One thing that QURL (Queen Under Radiant Light) strives for when she steps out onstage is to make her presence known. This Detroit-based DJ takes inspiration from some of the greatest onstage performers of our time, and brings that energy when she DJs her signature bass-heavy styles. We caught up with QURL before her highly-anticipated set at Gridlife Midwest 2023, which features headliners like Subtronics and Wooli with support from QURL.

Gridlife Midwest will take place from June 2-4, 2023. Learn everything you need to know about the fest with our guide, and grab tickets here! Check out our interview with QURL below, and listen to her music here as you get ready for her upcoming set!

iHR: Tell us a bit about your shows?

QURL: My goal is to create a unique experience for every performance, aiming to be better than before. I bring a fierce, feminine energy that, in my opinion, is lacking in the scene, with intent to empower all while promoting a safe space for everyone to enjoy without feeling judged. I primarily play bass house and breakbeats while sprinkling all genres in to keep the crowd on their toes! Come see for yourself!

Summer is always my busiest season, so I have lots of shows coming up! On Wednesday, May 18 I hosted the first installment of "QURL N GURLS," my new monthly series at this awesome venue in downtown Detroit, Deluxx Fluxx. This series of events highlights women and LGBTQIA+ DJs in the Michigan scene. Next up, two after parties for Movement Festival; the first being DEF’s debut show in Detroit with BLAAP (Of The Trees b2b Freddy Todd), Calvin Stanley, Mary Droppinz and more at Big Pink. Then, back to Big Pink to end the wild weekend with Habstrakt. Lastly, we have the highly anticipated GRIDLIFE Midwest with Subtronics, Sullivan King, Wooli and more!

Nostalgia Cutout Ultra Set

This is a perfect example of the psychedelic print sets for this season! I love it! Style that with some comfy platforms and a hydro-backpack and you’re set for the day!

iHR: What are some of your inspirations when it comes to performing?

Q: My top three favorite inspirations when it comes to performing are Nostalgix, Wreckno, and Nicki Minaj. Their stage presence, choreo, and ability on the mic, all while being their authentic selves is what moves me to break out of my shell and be the entertainer I know I was born to be.

iHR: Coming from the Detroit area, how did that influence your music and performance style?

Q: Being from Detroit has made me stand out as an artist because we as a city are innovators, especially when it comes to music. These genres are prime examples: Motown, Techno, Ghetto-Tech, "Jit music," and "Detroit rap." Once we bring a sound/vision to life, the rest of the world follows.

iHR X Cyber Connection Rainbow Reflective Hydration Pack

iHR: Can you tell us a bit about your upcoming show at GRIDLIFE Midwest?

Q: I will be throwing down at GRIDLIFE Midwest and could not be more excited! I'm setting the stage for legends such as Boogie T and Wooli, playing my usual bass heavy set while debuting new music! Come early to catch ya girl QURL on Saturday, June 4!

iHR: How do you approach creating a look when it comes to your rave or festival style?

Q: Raves and festivals have two very different looks for me. For raves, I like to dress cute with fun articles of clothing and jewelry, and wear bold makeup. Festivals require more comfortable outfits to ensure full days and nights of dancing. But both outfits do have two things in common: sick kicks and lots of pockets.

One Stop Rave Mad Catter Hand Fan

Another must have for ravers! Heat bogging you down? Use your trippy Mad Hatter fan to cool you down!

iHR: What rave fashion trends are you most excited to see this festival season?

Q: The fashion trend I’m most excited to see this season is all the psychedelic prints! I think they're so fun and look good on everyone!!

Unisex Aftershock Cargo Pants
POCKETS!!! YES!!! An absolute cop for any raver or festival goer, won’t lose anything!

iHR: If you made a piece of kandi today what would it say?

Q: “Gurls rule x Boys drool”

iHR: Favorite festival memory?

My favorite festival memory has to be watching Elderbrook from the top of the Ferris wheel at Electric Forest with my best friend while there were fireworks in the sky. One of the most surreal moments and sets I’ve seen.

Hunni, I'm Bomb Puffer Jacket

This bomber is perfect for those colder nights during festival season. Warm and stunnin'.

The annual GRIDLIFE Midwest festival is back for 2023 and with it brings a killer lineup and a high energy motorsports competition in South Haven, Michigan from June 2-3, 2023. GRIDLIFE is a one of a kind event that combines motorsports and dance music to bring top of the line production alongside a sport that brings good vibes and high energy. Here is everything u need to know about GRIDLIFE Midwest:

The Festival

The annual GRIDLIFE Midwest festival will bring killer dance music acts like Subtronics, Wooli, Sullivan King, and QURL, among many more. By day the event is a motor sports festival where hundreds of professional and grassroots drivers will take the racing track to show off their skills, with the music festival coming to live each night.

Tickets for the festival start at $175 for general admission with VIP starting at $295. Camping is also available onsite, but will require a camping pass which you can also get on the ticketing website. Grab tickets to GRIDLIFE Midwest here. You can also sign up to drive at the event through the website, though there may be some additional requirements.

Getting There

GingerMan Raceway is located just a few miles East of South Haven, Michigan which is right on the Eastern shores of Lake Michigan. You could easily get there in a couple of hours if you drove from Chicago, Detroit or Grand Rapids, which are probably the best airports to fly into if you're coming from out of state. Since the raceway is so close to South Haven, you can search for hotels anywhere in the area and get there in just a short drive or rideshare ride if you choose not to camp.

What to Wear

Since GRIDLIFE Midwest is a racing festival combined with a music festival, I can't think of a better place to channel ur inner Tokyo Drift girly. I'm thinking lots of racing flag print, flame print and Y2K for this one. I'll link some outfit ideas below.

If there's one thing that should be on your bucket list as a raver, it's a rave cruise. Sure there are bucket list festivals like EDC, Ultra, and Tomorrowland, but rave cruises bring a whole new vibe to raving that make the experience unique. Here are just a few of the rave cruises we think you NEED to check out as soon as possible. In fact, why not book your cabin now?

Holy Ship! Wrecked

 • When: TBA
 • Where: Mexico
 • Lineup Overview: Dom Dolla, Chris Lake, John Summit, Zeds Dead
 • Get Tickets here

Although the last few years of Holy Ship! (post-pandemic) have been on land – Holy Ship! Started circa 2012 as a cruise ship leaving from Port Canaveral, FL all the way down Great Stirrup Cay. The “Wrecked” brand happened when they decided to dock the ship in order to keep the party landlocked–pretty brilliant if you ask me! Escape the cold and find yourself sliding down one of the many water slides, shuffle on the shoreline, sumo wrestle your friends or a stranger, participate in DJ-led activities and just get lost in the music day in and day out in this 4-day all-inclusive music festival off the coast of beautiful Mexico. Keep an eye on their socials to see if they’ll take to the seas again in 2023!

Friendship

 • When: Jan 17-22
 • Where: USA, Miami
 • Lineup: Griz, Mija, Wax Motif, Eprom, Destructo
 • Get tickets here

Curated by Destructo, who founded HARD events and the original Holy Ship! Excursions, the Friendship cruise sets sail from Miami typically the last week of February into March. Of course Destructo knows what he’s doing by now and Friendship’s lineup speaks for itself, boasting names like Wax Motif, TroyBoi, Chris Lorenzo, Griz, Eprom and many others spanning multiple EDM genres so you’ll always find something to dance to on this ship. 2023 was the return of Friendship Cruise since 2020 and they went ALL out with their activities both on and off the cruise, with a group of pro skaters who came to tear up the skate course they’d set up on the basketball court on the top deck of the ship as well as plenty of more interactive activities on the beaches of the Great Stirrup Cay. Although past years have been in the Bahamas, they’ll be switching up with a stop in Belize for 2024! Tickets are sold out for next year but you can join the waitlist here!

Groove Cruise

 • When: Jan 24 - 28, 2024
 • Where: USA, multiple locations: Miami, LA
 • Lineup: Kaskade, Above & Beyond, KSHMR, Deadmau5
 • Tickets

Groove cruise is one of the more well known EDM cruise franchises boasting 20 years of groovin’ the open seas this upcoming 2024 season! Groove Cruise has been known to set sail from various ports in the US including San Diego to Cabo San Lucas and Los Angeles to Mexico as well, with headliners like 3LAU, Fedde LeGrand, Cosmic Gate, Kaskade, Shiba San, Green Velvet as well as Hosted Stages! There’s no shortage of activities on this cruise either, some led by some of the artists as well as Go-Karting, Laser Tag, themed costume parties (I mean dozens upon dozens of these so make sure to check their website and socials to know what costumes to pack!) and water slides to cool off from all the running around! Aside from more than 75 artists taking over the turntables on one of their 9 stages, you can head over to one of the 40 bars and restaurants on board to make sure you’re properly nourished and if you need a little bit of a pick-me-up, there’s a Starbucks on board with all the Nitro Cold Brew you could dream of! This year’s cruise will leave from Miami, FLA and head down to the Great Stirrup Bay in The Bahamas! EDSea (USA)

Heading out on its maiden voyage this November, Insomniac finally decided to throw its hat into the ring of EDM Cruises – to the delight of many. This 21+ event will be nothing short of magical, which is to be expected upon arriving at any Insomniac event! With 4 nights of non-stop dancing, music, and getting lost in the moment as you race your friends down a water slide or compete against your favorite DJ in some tournament or activity! Remember that it’s a sprint and not a marathon, so make sure to take advantage of their health and fitness center, hot tubs, spa amenities or just take in the sun while listening to the sounds of the electric sea! Tickets are currently sold out but you can join the waitlist here!

It’s The Ship!

 • When: March 8 - 10
 • Where: Asia, Singapore
 • Lineup: Ben Nicky, Adventure Club, Yellow Claw, OOKAY
 • Website

If you’re wanting a change of scenery from Great Stirrup Cay, might we suggest perhaps one of Asia’s largest music festivals at sea? This 3-Day EDM Cruise Festival typically tends to sell out pretty fast, and with good reason! One look at their website or IG and you can just feel the energy and personality of this oceanic paradise, with not only some impressive lineups but an endless array of activities to partake in while on board. Whether you’re someone who enjoys a Spa day topped with shopping and a trip to the wine vault, or you’re someone who would rather rock climb, try the ropes course and sing your heart out at Karaoke before catching a DJ set – It’s The Ship! has it all, pretty much!

You inner child may want to experience this festival!

Gem & Jam is a funky and fun music festival hosted in Tucson at the Pima County Fairgrounds. The festival takes place during the Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show, and while both are kindred spirits, Gem & Jam takes its own groovy spotlight by showcasing musicians and artists alike. It takes place for three days during the first weekend of February.

This year, it was from February 3rd-5th. Incredible artists such as LSDREAM, String Cheese Incident, The Floozies, Justin Martin and many more took the stage this year. All in all, Gem & Jam is an experience that is good for the soul as it opens up childlike wonder through the gems, art, music, workshops, and so much more! You inner child may want to experience this festival!

Here’s why your inner child wants to go to Gem & Jam:

The Music

The music ranges from dubstep to funk to psychedelic to house to jam band and everything in between. There’s music for everyone to enjoy! This is the perfect festival to attend if you like to chill out and listen to jam bands in the day and then rage at night. Check out the lineup below to get an idea of what you might be in for in 2024!

The Vendors

So many incredible vendors come to sell their gems, jewelry, clothing, foods, elixirs and more! Shopping around and exploring what the vendors have to offer is half the fun! You’ll never know what you might find.

Gem & Jam is for everyone

This festival is family-friendly! If you have a child under 16, they can attend while being accompanied by an adult. Kids under 6 years old can attend for free. With that being said, this festival goes above and beyond to nurture and promote a safe and conscientious environment. It carries a “we’re all family here” energy!

You can bring whatever you need

You can even bring in your wagon! That’s right, Rave Mom & Rave Dad! You can bring in a wagon to hold your belongings safely, day or night. Pack your wagon to your heart's content with blankets, water bottles, backpacks, jackets, hula hoops, squishmallows and anything else that brings you comfort!

It's a learning experience

There are workshops and activities during the day that also fuel the soul! This year there were workshops involving sound healing, yoga, meditation, education, flow toy classes and so much more. LSDREAM even did a LIGHT CODE set filled with soothing sounds that were perfect for centering oneself and relaxing. Time to let the inner child out with heart-opening activities!

Shop the looks: Babycakes Puffer Pants, Rolita Couture x iHR Astral Angel Mini Skirt and Butterfly Kisses Wrap Top

Great food

The food and drinks bring so much joy! No matter your dietary preference or restrictions, there is something here for you! Nourishing your body is key when you’re grooving! Camping at a festival can take its toll! But in order to keep you hydrated and energized, Gem & Jam does not fall short on food and drink options. There’s even fun shops offering elixirs filled with delicious herbal remedies, vitamin concoctions, and electrolytes.

Great vibes

Gem & Jam is hosted at the Pima County Fairgrounds. Although the fair rides are cleared out to create the venue space, the good vibes are felt through and through! The energy there is playful and exciting!
