With its trippy prints and fun accessories, Rolita Couture is easily one of our most exciting brands that we collaborate with regularly. The pieces are often form-fitting and incorporate bright colors, shiny textures, or unique shapes. When you're at a rave or festival there is no better way to show off your sexy side than with one of our flattering bodysuits or two-pieces released with Rolita Couture.

The latest collection with Rolita Couture just dropped this month, so to celebrate we talked to the brand's founder, Rosa Yanisselli. Yanisselli founded the brand in 2013 as an Etsy shop after she applied for a job as a nurses assistant but never got an interview. As it turned out, the universe was trying to send a message, and it was not getting the interview that led her to make the jump into a passion project with Rolita Couture. After a few years, Rolita Couture became bigger than she could have imagined.

"I want to inspire women to feel sexy and confident in their body by wearing clothes that fit them and make them feel beautiful," Yanisselli writes on her website. "I want to dedicate my life and career promoting body confidence and self love. I want to show to every woman how beautiful, special and unique they are. I want to give a voice and space to those women who feel excluded in life, those who feel they are not good enough and also to the ones that feel amazing about themselves." she writes.

Read on for our interview with Rosa Yanisselli of Rolita Couture, and check out the cute pieces that dropped on the savormeditation site with Rolita Couture!

savormeditation: What do you do with Rolita Couture?
Rosa Yanisselli: I am the Boss Lady! As a small business owner, I wear many hats. I Design, Cut, Sew, Social media, Photograph, and many more things that I can't think of right now. LOL

iHR: Can you describe what Rolita Couture is to you?
RY: Rolita Couture for me is my baby. It's my passion and it's what gave me a new opportunity in life! Before Rolita Couture, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life and I was putting all my energy into the wrong things, but all that changed the day I decided to open originally as an Etsy shop. Rolita Couture has changed my entire world.

iHR: What does rave culture mean to you?
RY: The rave culture is the family you choose, and I don't think there is a better culture. I was welcomed with open arms into this judgemental, free place. My business wouldn't have survived 2020 without the culture and I'm so grateful for that.

iHR: What are some of your favorite pieces that Rolita Couture has done with savormeditation?
RY: By far my favorite piece is the Fantasy Skirt we made in 2017 because it was inspired by my EDC wedding dress. I also love the Bootylicious Bottoms because it makes all who wear them their Booty POP!

Rolita Couture x iHR Forever Angel Sassy Fairy Outfit

iHR: What are some of your favorite festival fashion trends?
RY: There are so many trends that I love, but right now I have been enjoying things made with fringe. They look so fun and it reminds me of the salsa competition dresses.

iHR: What trends do you see popping up in the next year?
RY: I think acrylic jewelry is gonna get heavy next year. I see more and more girls wearing them to festivals and they look amazing! I also see things like Psychedelic things popping! (ex: Mushrooms)

With its fun prints and reflective designs, The Lyte Couture is one of the more unique brands we carry at savormeditation. The small business, which is owned and designed by its founder Kristen Boles, is about to launch a new collection at savormeditation and to celebrate that we had a chat with her to discuss everything from what inspired the brand to the future of rave and festival fashion. Check out our interview with Kristen Boles of The Lyte Couture below, and check out some of the new styles that we're releasing on savormeditation.

savormeditation: What inspired you to found Lyte Couture?

Kristen Boles: I have always loved live music of every kind. I found electronic music and its culture to be my niche. I have been going to events for 2 decades and have always felt inspiration and joy in the culture and music. My husband and I ran a production company hosting EDM events for many years. Absorbing and enjoying the experience from one side, I felt as though I could make an artistic impact in the fashion industry. It all began on my kitchen table, [as a] mother of 3 (9/12/17 yrs old), wife and now business owner.

iHR: Can you describe what Lyte Couture is to you?

KB: The Lyte Couture to me is a platform that celebrates individuality and strives to make all friends comfortable, excited and fashionable. This company has given me the opportunity to bring joy to a culture I have enjoyed for so long. A culture that allows me to express my artistic visions and see my fellow ravers vibing out in my creations gives me goosebumps. Making any BODY feel beautiful and comfortable is a wonderful rush.

The Lyte Couture X iHR Silver Moon Top and Mini Skirt

iHR: What does rave culture mean to you?
KB: Rave culture, to me, is an outstanding practice of many of the greatest abilities we possess and can be voiced. Love, kindness, artistic expression, friendship, positive conversation, shared experiences. These things, I believe, are all exuberant and heavily focused on in our culture. P.L.U.R!

The Lyte Couture X iHR Dazed Mushroom Triangle Top and Bottoms
iHR: What are some of your favorite pieces that Lyte Couture has done with savormeditation?
KB: We are SOOOOO excited about the new collaboration/collection we have dropping. I absolutely adore the new flame pattern creations, especially the bottom with chains and leg wraps. Reflective Refraction pieces have and always will be a favorite as well. Lastly, Dazed Mushroom has been a win! It's just a beautiful fabric that is perfect for the festival season.
reflective bikini
Lyte Couture Refraction Reflective Geo Cage Top and Bottoms
iHR: What are some of your favorite festival fashion trends?
KB: One of our favorite trends this festival season are couple looks. There is nothing like matching your partner. I also adore squad looks, it makes such a wow factor at festivals to see 5 to 10 people of different size and shape  all squading together. What's better than your whole gang slaying the festival fashion game and turning heads as you pass by? Another trend that is incredibly eye popping and heavy in the game is Reflective wear! It's PERFECT for those late night sets with great lighting production! Reflective GLOWS!
iHR: What trends do you see popping up in the next year?
KB: Trends we will be seeing soon.... I think you will see a ton of looks made with dual fabrics and patterns. We are really loving incorporating that in our new designs. There is just a whole new element you can bring out in designs using two different fabrics. The combinations of contrast are nearly endless... and so much fun! We also always love chains and buckles, adding that extra touch and hardware to designs.
In 2022, I think the push for more inclusive rave wear for all sizes will be even stronger. All ravers deserve to shine with their unique styles! The Lyte Couture looks forward to accommodating all individuals in feeling  as radiant and bright as their souls deserve.

As we start the new year, savormeditation has spent some time reflecting on all the memories that have happened in the last decade. From evolving fashion trends (RIP fluffies), to career changes, attending hundreds of festivals, and more - a lot can change in a decade, that's for sure! We've laughed, we've cried, and most of all - we've grown even more thankful for the wonderful community that makes up the rave world. We thought it would be fun to share some tidbits about how some of Team savormeditation' members have changed over the last 10 years.

Without further ado, check out this Q&A (and some funky, fabulous pictures) featuring Mama Unicorn, Tiny Dancer, Pixxie Stix and Baby Nova below!

MAMA UNICORN

You've been a part of savormeditation since the beginning. How have you and the company grown in the last decade?

I've been a part of savormeditation for the last 8 years! It's been so fun watching it grow over the years - from one of my first vending events to our first unicorn crew in 2013, iHeart has grown infinitely over the years and I have, too! I've had years of experience, growth, friendship, and most importantly teamwork. Being a part of iHeart since the beginning is a reminder of how you think you shape something but in reality, it shapes you.

I'm so grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way -  you are amazing and I’m so lucky to have this amazing community that has grown with & supported our brand. You are what savormeditation stands for and the reason why I come to work every day!

Mama Unicorn Throwback Post

TINY DANCER

How many festivals have you been to since 2009?

90 festivals - I literally had to go back and count this. Keep in mind these are only festivals and not counting solo tour shows or club events....😅 The most festivals I went to in 1 year was 20.

Tiny Dancer at Electric Forest

Have you made any friends through raving since 2009 that you stay in touch with?

Absolutely! One of my good friends Denny was a glover I met through YouTube in 2008. We used to give feedback on each other's light show videos and share our fav trance tracks through YouTube Messages. We finally met up at a rave in 2009 and have stayed in touch ever since! He's like family to me, we still hang out and he's still always sending me the best trance sets. There are also a lot of people I don't necessarily hang out with but I have literally been running into them at shows for 10 years. I love it! The energy between us never changes, it's always the same love and the same enthusiasm for the music. It makes me happy that there are people I can share that feeling with over the years.

Top 3 favorite festivals (and years) of the decade and why?

Nocturnal 2011 - This was the first year Nocturnal upgraded to a 2 day festival. Insomniac really stepped up their game with this one and made it truly epic, decking out the festival grounds with music, lights, and attractions. Not to mention this was an incredible time for music - this was a time when Sweedish House Mafia and Avicci made ways for the new sounds of big room house and even Anjunabeats had people like Arty and Mat Zo making some major bangers on the dance floor.

I also remember being so stoked because I made a Kaskade shirt and got into his after-movie!

Tiny Dancer on Kaskade Youtube Video

EDC Las Vegas 2014 - THE YEAR OF THE KINETIC CATHEDRAL! An incredible year for EDC Las Vegas featuring some of my favorite sets ever from Above & Beyond and Eric Prydz. I coordinated an America theme with my rave squad that made for some epic photos and memories.

Tiny Dancer and Brother

ABGT 250 (2017) - hands down the best vibes I've ever encountered at a festival. I got there was like, "THIS is what commUNITY feels like!" It was also the first time I'd done a camping festival with my friends. We came together for the same purpose and pulled off something we could have never done alone! The weather was perfect, the venue was incredibly beautiful, and my heart was so full. I was personally going through a bit of a rough patch when I left for the festival but the music and the love I experienced from my friends and the other Anjunabeats family really lifted my spirits and made me feel like everything was going to be ok.

How have you changed as a raver and a person in the last decade?

I think that when I initially started going to raves I was living in a different reality than I do now. There were a lot of uncertainties in my life and situations I had no control over. I kind of felt like I was going through life with no safety net and it was a bit scary. Raves were an escape from that reality. Though I was just as obsessed with the music as I am now, back then raves gave me a sense of security and community that I felt was lacking in my personal life. Raves actually built me up quite a bit and I don't know who I would have been today without this community. Through my experience, I have found a greater perspective in life. I go to raves to celebrate the things I've gained in life rather than to forget what I'm lacking. I've worked hard to build a life I'm happy with and surround myself with friends that have become family. My purpose at events is not to forget, but to make memories I'll remember forever with people I love.

Oh and of course....I think my fashion sense has gotten a tad better for sure lol.

Tiny Dancer at Paradiso Festival

PIXXIE STIXX

How many festivals have you been to since 2009?

70!

How has your fashion sense evolved over the last decade?

My festival fashion sense has evolved into being the most extra I can be. When I first started raving and festival-ing I pretty much wore what I considered to be the "standard" so for raving that was a beaded bra or beaded butterfly top and a tutu with fluffies.

Tutu Rave Fashion 2009

2009

For festivals - I definitely had a more bohemian, hippie style and wore lots of earth tones in the beginning!

Now - its definitely the brighter, the better and I think about every element of my look from what eyeliner I am going to wear to what necklaces will best compliment the look.

If you could re-live any festival from this decade, what would it be & why? Would you change anything?

I would love to re-live Coachella 2010 or Desert Hearts 2014. For Coachella, it was my first West Coast festival and I can't remember being so excited for anything in my life. I truly believed it would change the course of my life and in many ways- it did! I saw so many incredible acts such as The XX (the year of their first album), Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros (the year Home came out) Jay Z, Bassnectar (The year Bass Head came out), Muse, LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, and so many more. If I went back I would just have taken a little more care of my self as far as the basics go - eating, drinking water, sunscreen & enough sleep!

Coachelle 2010

My first Coachella!

For Desert Hearts, that first year opened up my ears to the deep, trippy, melodic techno I love so much today. I'll never forget hearing Marbs or Dance Spirit for the first time. I felt like I was being re-born.  I also heard a legendary TECHNO set by Desert Dwellers. I was so inspired by that festival, it made me change the course of my life and work in festivals full-time as a vendor coordinator for 5 years. I wouldn't change a thing.

BABY NOVA

Top 3 favorite festivals (and years) of the decade and why?

1st: 2018 EDC LV- Nothing beats being under the Electric Sky in Las Vegas. This was my 3rd EDC LV.. so I really knew my way around the festival. I went with my girl squad we coordinated outfits every day and went with 0 expectations and had an unforgettable time. Listened to my first live Illenium set - do I need to say more?  There's something magical about EDC, it's truly an amazing festival from start to finish.

EDCLV 2018

2nd- Audiotisitc 2019-  I was already obsessed with house music - this festival only amplified it. So many good vibes, groovy beats, and fabulous fashion. I was in HOUSE HEAVEN. The first time Anti-Up a.ka. (Chris lake x Chris Lorenzo) ever blessed my ears. I haven't been the same since.

3rd- Groove Island 2019 - Totally different vibe than I'm used to, but it made me appreciate the scene so much more. The Groove Cruise Rave Fam is a seasoned but just as fun crowd. This festival was literally on the Catalina Island beach, it was breathtakingly beautiful every sunset we saw. My sister and I finally saw one of our favorite DJ's of all time, Sam Felt and it was just the most tropical and happy vibes.

Groove Cruise ISland

What was your favorite fashion trend from the last decade?

Favorite festival fashion trend from this last decade goes hands down to....PLATFORMS! Seriously completes any look, the moment you put those bad boys on, I bet you'll be feelin' like a million bucks!

My collection has grown so much in the last 4 years I don't think I would ever attend a festival without them. Every raver needs to try them at least once in their life.

Platform Shoes at Escape Halloween

What’s your top few favorite pieces of kandi you’ve made or been gifted?

I have about 3 favorite pieces:

1st: My sister is the QUEEN of Kandi cuffs and she's given me my 2 favorites. One is a Sun & Moon Pearler Cuff. "Our DJ" is Above & Beyond. We symbolize the sun and moon in each other lives so during EDC 2016 during their set she traded it to me while Sun & Moon was playing. I'm not crying your crying!

2nd:  I graduated from Arizona State University in May 2018 and later that month we celebrated at EDC LV, My sister surprised me with another Cuff.  This one was my school's colors and with letter spelled out "You will always be my role model" It has a light-up graduation hat hanging from it. She's always so thoughtful.

3rd: During my first EDC LV with iHeart, we were walking around and this guy came up to us and pulled me aside. He had TONS of different kinds pearlers on and he asked to connect heads. He traded me the BIGGEST Stich Kandi Pearler Necklace. I was in such awe. It was a very special moment with a stranger that now became a friend.

Have you ever dreamed about being a real-life Supernova girl? Well, now your dreams aren’t too far from reality!

Yesterday, savormeditation announced their official sponsorship of the first festival set to take place in outer space in 2025 called, iHeartSpace.

“The concept is similar to a festival on a cruise ship, but in a rocket ship.” - says co-founder, ET Martin, owner of event & EDM company, Doc Martians. The only major difference is you’ll be partying for 6 days in space instead of at sea. The plan is for attendees to spend the majority of the time orbiting the Earth. However, there will be two planned stops to unconfirmed locations.” (We’ll give you a hint for one of the stops- there’s a lot of cheese at this place).

savormeditation plans to sponsor many aspects of the festival including hosting a Zero gravity stage and activating a special freeze-dried ice cream station with their own unique flavor called, “Unicorn Starship.”

“savormeditation has always supported innovation and creativity so I’m really excited about this collaboration,” said Sr. Brand Manager, Mama Unicorn.

Although the event is not for another 6 years, festival planners do have some major headliners of the future in mind, including DJ Beef Sticks, Blackhole Babes, and Da Martianz.

Hey, savormeditation Fam! It's been an awesome month here at savormeditation' headquarters.

Earlier this month, our team was inspired to create our first ever Shop by Size Collection for sizes XL - 2XL. This idea sprouted from the feedback that we've heard from our loyal costumers and we took this feedback to heart. This collection is designed to make every raver's shopping experience smoother and more enjoyable. Every raver deserves to feel fantastic and beautiful because YOU ARE!

To celebrate the launch of this collection, we wanted to launch a contest that would help women feel empowered all across the world. So, we came up with the #iHeartSelfLove movement. To enter the contest, we asked folks to create a post on their Instagram page about how they learned to love themselves, despite what society's definition of beauty is.

We were overwhelmed with stories that made us laugh, cry and most importantly, be inspired. We knew it would be impossible to choose just 1 winner, so we randomly selected 5 winners*. Below are their inspirational stories. We hope you'll find these stories as meaningful as we did.

@wubwubwife

Girl Wearing Aqua Matching Rave Set and white lace maxi skirt

"#IHeartSelfLove I am just like every single girl. I have always been self-conscious in this judgmental world where you have to fit the cookie cutter shape to be deemed beautiful. I was always made fun of in school I was a but-her-face (butter-face). I looked at all these other girls. I wished and prayed why couldn’t I have a flat stomach. Why couldn’t I have bigger boobs? Why did I have to wear glasses? I know every single flaw on my body that I wished I could change. I was this shy girl that just wanted to fit in. I wanted to change. I put myself down.

As an adult, I fought with fluctuations in weight. I got down to an unhealthy weight for my height. Less than 115lbs at 5’6. Still getting skinny didn’t help. I have since then gained weight and am up to 160lbs.

I joined the rave community and in this journey, I realized this is where I belong. Everyone accepts you for who you are. Big small, thick, thin, shy, outgoing. They only bring you up and don’t put you down. When I put on my rave outfits I feel like the best person I can be. I feel beautiful and like I can rock this world. I have learned to live my best life and love myself. I have found parts of my body to love like I love my butt. I’m still trying to get comfortable in my own skin. But without the rave community constantly there to bring us together, I don’t know if I would be here. It took me a while from not even being able to go to bed without a bra on to now repping pasties and showing my gorgeous self off. 💕💕💕💕 The photos I posted were from a few years ago when I was at my skinniest. I don’t have any recent photos in my iHeartraves gear."

@jenny_vee

"I can honestly say posting this picture a year ago would have made me so uncomfortable, only because I've never felt comfortable in my own skin.
I always let others opinions dictate how I felt about myself and that always left me feeling like I was never good enough, but over the past year I've been dealt with some heartbreaking stuff that changed me forever, and I realized life is to short to care about what someone thinks of me.

I remember the first time I walked into a rave it was nothing but love and positivity no one judging you for what you looked like or who you loved or what you believed in, seeing how everyone was so caring about each other was amazing, I was able to step out of my comfort zone and I was going to be happy regardless of what it is people say. I'm learning to love myself mind and body even with my flaws. Being happy and letting go of what others think is the best feeling in the world"

When I was younger I was very tiny & people would tell me “eat a burger”, ask if I had an eating disorder and tell me I should gain or DO something about how small I was.

During high school, I tried everything to gain weight & I did. I gained nearly 65lb throughout high school (and more after). But I felt huge and uncomfortable in my new skin. I hated the stretch marks on my body & felt destroyed. So I would hide in oversized clothing & avoided anything that showed my arms or stomach, basically anything that showed my shape.
Now at the age of 22, I have realized I’m beautiful in my own skin with all of my flaws & my weight is not a flaw or an issue. I embrace my shape & am try to step out of my comfort zone.

I now just focus on how healthy I feel rather than what I weigh or what I should “fix” about myself. 💕💞 self-love and self-acceptance are often the hardest things to learn."

"Self-love is a continuing journey. It’s important to recognize that we don’t *always* wake up feeling 100 percent, but we need to ALWAYS remember we are ENOUGH & we are absolutely capable of being the best versions of ourselves we can be. I sometimes wish I could go back in time & hug my younger self who never felt good enough or always felt like I didn’t belong. But that’s just an important part of the entire self-love journey & I wouldn’t be the same without fighting through the negative times. It’s important to recognize how far you have traveled & give yourself credit for all the amazing things you have accomplished. I (still) personally get overwhelmed by the world & society perpetuating impractical standards sometimes of what size we should be & how we need to act. But the most important thing I have learned through self-loves just to tune out all these negative ideas & be myself because honestly, that’s WAYYYY more fun!! I’d rather be me because that’s all I know!
There is no such thing as the “wrong” size. There is no such thing as “the perfect body”. There is only one of you. One exceptionally, beautiful, incredible, capable YOU!"

Although this hashtag began as a contest, we encourage you to share your stories and let the world hear you roar. Because you're beautiful and unique - no matter what shape or size you may be.

"How tall is Mama Unicorn?" "Will Mama Unicorn Marry Me?" "Does Mama Unicorn Miss Her Dreads?" These are just a few of the many questions that we received on our Ask Me Anything (AMA) post on our Instagram featuring our Brand Manager, Mama Unicorn. While it was difficult to narrow down the questions, here are the answers to some of the featured questions. Without further ado, here are Mama Unicorn's Answers:

_angelawhite_ - What do you look for in recruiting new unicorns?

If someone is not too familiar with the Unicorn Crew, on the surface it can seem like a free ticket to a festival, free outfit, and features on our social media. Which is a pretty cool deal. However, the Unicorn Crew is so much more than that. The Unicorn Crew is a festival experience different from any other. Unicorns spend the entire festival with each other, and usually they’ve never met before. They roam around the festival constantly, meeting other attendees and engaging with all people who could be new to the brand or are already familiar with the brand. One of our main goals is to promote rave culture in a positive light and help other attendees feel both welcomed into the community and educated on its culture. When we read through Unicorn Crew applications, we look for someone who fully understands this and is more than willing to take on this experience wholeheartedly. It’s also something we like to think of as a reward for our customers and supporters who truly know our brand and what it’s about. Knowledge of our brand and expression of how it has impacted his or her life is always a plus.

  • Meowlizzette - Do you miss your dreads??

  •  I do! I had dread extensions for 2 full years after my first Burning Man. Dreads are a big part of BM culture as they protect your hair from the dust storms and are easy to maintain. My first burn was a truly eye opening experience for me and when I got home, I didn’t want to take them out. I had become a new version of myself there and to me my dreads were a representation of that. I think there’s definitely a chance they’ll be back soon and many times throughout my life. I picture myself as a crazy hippy grandma with dreads someday, smoking weed on my porch and telling my grandkids stories about raves in the early 2000s.

  • nicole.co - What was the hardest part about getting iHR started?

  • savormeditation was created by our CEO Brian and his now wife then girlfriend, Christine, in October 2011 (#coupleswhoravetogetherstaytogether). When I came on board, we spent a lot of time talking about what the brand should represent and what it was going to be. We ourselves became ravers in the era of Hard Haunted Mansion, EDCLA, TAO, Armin’s spread hands as the epitome of the “feels,” the explosion of dubstep and the transformation of what everyone called “Techno” at the time into “EDM.” Thus, savormeditation was born into that and shaped from it, but it has evolved along with the community and culture into something so much bigger than we ever forecasted it to be and faster, too. We have always strived to make savormeditation more than just a brand but literally a part of the culture and an outlet to help expand that culture, contribute to the community that has so wonderfully supported us, and shed a positive light on rave culture in general. That part has been easy and natural for us. The amount of support we received for it has forced us to grow a lot faster than we were ready to at times and scaling to a larger level of business and as a company has not been easy. But it’s been awesome and I’m so grateful for all of it.

  • rayleen_95 - What are you looking forward to at EDC this year?

  • EDC is an amazing festival and in my opinion, the biggest party in the world. I am looking forward to it being in May this year, although I keep forgetting how it’s earlier and then freaking out about how there’s still so much to do when I remember that. I’m also looking forward to meeting savormeditation customers. I remember the first festival I ever went to where I saw people wearing savormeditation and almost crying with excitement. I wanted to walk up to every single person and tell them they were beautiful and how amazing they looked in their outfit, although I was lot shyer then. I still get that feeling every single festival and it’s overwhelmingly wonderful.

  • darkrubired - Is there an IHR Store in Konopiska?

  • We used to have a retail store in Konopiska, now our headquarters are located there. Our flagship store is located not too far away in West Covina, CA off the 10.

  • viviclaries - Since some of you have been raving for many years, do you ever get tired of it? Or not as excited as before?

  • It’s a different feeling of excitement I want to say. There are some festivals I’ve been to more than 8 years in a row. With those festivals, I get excited to meet the attendees and see new sets I haven’t seen there before. I definitely get reminded of that feeling of wonder and awe when I meet someone who is there for the first time. I get excited for them. To be honest though, I still have trouble sleeping the night before every festival I go to. I’m like a little kid sometimes. Tiny Dancer absolutely loooooooves it when I wake her up at 8AM jumping up and down and saying we need to get ready for a festival when gates don’t open until 6PM. I just can’t help it.

  • Mama Unicorn at Lightning in a Bottle

  • Baehanchan and lisamariesedano  - What has been your favorite festival/event?

  • This question is incredibly difficult to answer. It’s like asking someone to pick their favorite child. There are so many cool aspects to so many different festivals and I really feel weird focusing on one. If I had to though I’d mention Electric Forest. Electric Forest last year literally changed my life. I love when festivals expand on the culture and provide ways for attendees to enhance themselves so much further than just experiencing the amazing music they have to offer. With Electric Forest’s art and performances you can immerse yourself into an entirely new world. Not only that but they also have programs and activities that both allow you to expand your mind and connect with other attendees in so many different ways. One of my favorites is Her Forest, it focuses on empowering women and it’s incredibly inspiring.

  • bejoux_How tall are you? You inspire me to wear tall shoes!

  • I’m 5’7” I don’t normally wear platforms but I love the shoes we bring in and tried wearing them for the first time at Beyond Wonderland this year. It wasn’t too hard to get around and I enjoyed how cute they were and being taller, but you definitely won’t catch me wearing them at a festival with rocky or bumpy terrain.

  • ladyravepool - What is the best advice you have to give to other women business leaders in the rave community, trying to start their own or be apart of something huge..what would you tell the up and coming ladies to focus on most?

  • If you’re starting your own business, cultivating a team of people who will complement your strengths and have the same vision as you are the most important advice I’d have to give. As a leader, you need to understand that you’re not going to be the best at everything and it’s going to take a lot of trust on both sides of your working relationship. The most solid foundation for that is shared vision and a passion for your goal.

If you’re looking to join a team, be confident in the skills you’ve acquired thus far no matter how far along you are in your career. Really figure out what it is that you bring the table and don’t be afraid to articulate that when you’re reaching out or networking. I can’t tell you how many times people have reached out to me and expressed that they “just want to be involved” and “would be willing to do anything” in order to be a part of our brand. The people who really stand out to me are those who are upfront about what they see themselves doing and the experience they offer. If your dream job doesn’t happen right away, find opportunities that you believe are a step in the right direction. Work hard at those opportunities no matter what they are. I got my first job the day I got my driver’s license at a Coldstone Creamery. I became a Shift Leader there within a few weeks, and I would never have realized some of the leadership skills I learned when I was just 16 years old helped shape the managerial skills I have today, many years later. Your dreams won’t work unless you do, and your hard work will put you where luck will find you. I got very lucky in my career so far, but I would never attribute all of it to luck. Don’t ever give up on yourself.

  • anananananananananana - Do you have a mantra to motivate yourself? Or a book or something that just pumps you up to keep doing what you do?

  • Two things drive me more than anything in life. The first is being an unconventional woman in business and supporting other women doing the same. My team is more inspirational to me than they’ll ever know. They are some of the smartest, most talented women and I have the amazing pleasure of leading them. Secondly, you could say my life motto is, "work hard, play hard." I am definitely the type of person to put my career first always and never stop working or striving to be more efficient and better at what I do. At the same time, I’m driven by my passion for festivals and when I’m not in the office running meetings and juggling projects, I’m on the dancefloor womping until the sun comes up or in the desert dancing under the moon.

    savormeditation Team at Beyond Wonderland

  • lahefa - When did you start raving? And what drew you into the rave culture?

  • I’ve been into dance music since the early 2000s. I grew up in Seattle and went to a few underground parties at a pretty early age. Kids in my high school made fun of me for liking “techno” and driving around in my car blasting 9PM by ATB after football games. My first massive was HARD Haunted Mansion in 2009 at the Shrine and my first Southern California event. I was completely enthralled by the number of friendly people I met. When I was younger, I was a lot shyer and introverted than I am now. You would never catch me dancing on stage or talking to thousands of people on Snapchat about how much I love the community that we are involved in. Something about the community and the culture I experienced then and at all the events I went to following made me feel like I belonged to something bigger and that this was a place where I could show my true self. I wanted to share this feeling with the world, and somehow couldn’t shake the notion that this wasn’t just something I was going to be passionate about, it was something I was called to do.

  • Xxby_belxx - What inspires your outfits or ideas?

  • To be honest, I don’t think I’m the most stylish individual who works at savormeditation. There are days I wake up and I wish I could wear my pajamas to work. I like to focus on the business and analytics over the creative side most days. So when it comes to dressing for festivals, I like to just kinda go with the flow and wear what makes me feel good over everything else. When I’m matching with my team that’s when the crazy styling comes out. There’s usually spreadsheets involved - it gets intense. In terms of savormeditation inspiration, we let our customers show us what they want. We’re always listening to feedback and bringing home ideas we come up with at festivals when talking with our customers. I’m also incredibly inspired by all the ravers who have created their own brands, like Rolita Couture and Lunautics. It’s a huge goal of mine to continue to discover these brands and help use our voice in the community to give them a spotlight to grow.

  • Brittanyyyannn - How did you get into Iheartraves/INTO THE AM? Did you go to school and get a degree in anything? If not, would you?

  • I went to college and got a degree in Business Marketing. I had no idea in college that I wanted to get into festival fashion. I knew I wanted to work in EDM in some capacity, but was more interested in the music side and artist management. I got incredibly lucky finding my savormeditation family and being able to build this brand. It allowed me to truly become the person I always wanted to become and in doing that my dreams of growing this brand and inspiring others grew and they continue to grow today. There is so much I want to accomplish now and I’m so excited to experience whatever happens next. I think my education helped and was a great foundation, but it’s definitely the passion that got me here and also what brought my amazing team together. I wouldn’t recommend to get a degree or not getting a degree to people who are looking to do something similar. I know people who’ve started their own businesses who don’t have them. It really depends on your own unique situation.

  • Vegederian - What are you inspired by??

  • As a female in business, I’m inspired by many different things. At the end of the day, it’s savormeditation customers who inspire me more than anything. I have an amazing privilege of being able to meet supporters of our brand at every festival I go to and it’s something I look forward to immensely. The number of people who have opened up to me and shared their stories with me on how our brand has impacted them is the reason why I get out of bed every morning.

    ledesma105 - Who’s your current favorite DJ’s?

This is probably not all of them but here we go in no particular order - Kaskade, Liquid Stranger, Cristoph, Eric Prydz, Ivy Lab, Zhu, Dela Moontribe, Treavor Moontribe, Desert Dwellers, Sub Focus, MK, Perfect Stranger, Cut Snake, Barakuda, Ace Ventura, Bassnectar, Rezz, Wenzday, Opiuo, The Glitch Mob, Seven Lions, Porter Robinson, Grum, Lane 8, Pendulum (what I wouldn’t give to see a Pendulum live set again ah), Camelphat, Green Velvet, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Space Jesus, Kill the Noise, Zeds Dead, Capsa, Rusko (but did anyone catch their B2B at EDC in 2016?!? So good), Mikey Lion, Porkchop (or is it Porky now?), Above and Beyond, Pan-Pot, Delta Heavy. I’m sure there’s more but there you go for now haha.

Aeryellerr What wakes you up in the morning? What drives your soul?

Coffee wakes me up in the morning, can’t live without it. Inspiring other women and men to follow their own dreams and be confident in who they are at festivals and so so far beyond is what drives my soul.

If you're following savormeditation on social media, chances are you've definitely seen some gorgeous hairstyles during our lifestyle shoots. From dying hair to creating glitter roots to space buns and elaborate braids, this Hair Wizard does it all. Introducing the woman behind the comb, Tasha Tripp!

I had the pleasure of meeting Tasha last December during our first lifestyle shoot with her. Instantly, I knew we had something in common when I heard she was going to Disneyworld with her boyfriend AND that she liked bass music. We talked about Disney and general headbanger things and I was happy to learn that she's just with both as obsessed as I am! It's been a lot of fun to work with Tasha over the last few months and I was so excited to interview this badass woman to help our readers get to know this amazing soul.

When/How did you get started with hair styling/color?

Hair has always been a passion of mine. In high school, I used to buy Hot Topic bleach and do crazy things to my friend's hair with confidence even though I had no idea what I was doing. Luckily, they always turned out well! I worked in the medical field and sales for five years but I got laid off from a position I thought would be my career. It turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me because it led me to following my (then) hobby of doing my friends' hair. I went to tour a Paul Mitchell School and totally fell in love. My only regret was not going sooner. I already had a huge passion for creating transformations and making people feel beautiful, now I would have the training to back that up and make my hobby into a career. I then was able to focus on the things I loved most, color and styling. I remember when I was in beauty school one of my instructors told me I would never make any money doing fashion colors, luckily I didn't let that get me down and I continued to work on what made me happy. Now I have a full clientele of mermaids and unicorns and I couldn't be happier.

When/How did you get involved with savormeditation?

I have always loved savormeditation clothing, style and community. I followed both TinyDancer and MamaUnicorn on Instagram. One day, I saw that TinyDancer had posted her new purple hair on her story. I replied telling her I loved the new color and asked where she got it done. She was currently doing it herself and I asked if she would want to come in and create something really fun. She agreed and we made her into a real-life mermaid and instantly hit it off. Since then TinyDancer has become such a wonderful friend and I am so blessed for the opportunities she has given me to become more involved with savormeditation. They did not have a hairstylist for their photo shoots and TinyDancer (Kelcey) invited me to come and do hair for the first shoot she had full reign over. I think it was a huge success! I had SO much fun creating fun and wild hairstyles to match the outfits and help provide a complete look for those looking for their next rave style. In the salon, you don't get to do these styles every day so it really allowed me to be creative and I'm always so excited to create something new at each shoot.

When/How did you get involved with the EDM community?

My first rave was a small warehouse rave somewhere in LA in early 2009, it was new and exciting and I was instantly ready for more. My first big event was EDC 2009 and I was completely blown away. I couldn't believe that this whole world existed and I had no idea. I remember walking into the Coliseum for the first time and just thinking "Where has this been my whole life?" I was in awe. All of the people running around freely, not a care in the world. The lights, the music, the vibes... I had all the feels and I never wanted to leave. I had never experienced anything like it before, everyone was so loving and accepting, you could wear anything you wanted, as little or as much as you wanted and no one judged you for anything. It was the way I acted in my everyday life and I was ecstatic that I had found a community that was completely accepting as well. I remember moshing around the tiny bass pod stage in the dirt and just flowing with the people and the music. I was home. I have now been raving for 9 years and have gone to more events than I could even count!

What’s your festival style? Can you describe the evolution of your festival style?

My festival syle is bright and comfy. I always just bought the brightest colored clothes I could find and matched my accessories to it. It's funny because I literally only wear black clothes every day, but at raves I'm full rainbow unicorn vibes! At my first EDC I had no idea what to wear. I think I wore jean shorts and a black daisy tank top with flowers in my hair, after that and seeing all the different styles, I was inspired to get creative. Over the years my style has definitely evolved, I'm still all about the crazy colors, furry everything and crazy hair, but after 9 years of raving, comfort sets in a little bit and you start to wear Nikes instead of light up chrome shoes. Furry boot covers are great at covering my boring comfy shoes!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

I am obsessed with all things Disney! I have an entire sleeve dedicated to it and I've seen most Disney movies at least a million times. I know all the words to almost all Disney songs and if you play it in the car, I won't hold back from belting them out, especially Moana! I also go to Disneyland at least once or twice a month. Disney is another place I feel at home, just happiness and good vibes.

What’s your favorite type of hair styling for festivals?

I love braids, whether it's all of your hair in braids to fight the mess of a festival and not have to worry about doing your hair at all, or doing a half up half down with space buns, I love them all. There are SO many ways to braid your hair that the possibilities are endless. Whether your hair is short or long, there's always a style you can make work when braids are involved. Also, GLITTER! Glitter on everything lol.

I love your Instagram stories of your dog! Can you tell us a little bit about him?

I could talk about my dog all day long! His name is Teddy and he is a 7-year-old Pomeranian. I rescued him last September. He was an owner surrender to the shelter and I just can't figure out why someone would give up this perfect ball of fluff. He has brought so much happiness into my life. I've never had a small dog before (my last dog was a pitbull) and he is just the sweetest little angel and the easiest dog ever. He is 90% fluff and 10% dog, you would love him.

At savormeditation we believe that inspiring self-expression through rave fashion can be very empowering and liberating. Have you seen hair coloring and styling have the same effect on people? Can you give us some examples?

I completely agree! It is liberating to express yourself by wearing whatever makes you feel beautiful or sexy at raves and I definitely think that hair has the same effect on people. Sometimes when people come to me, they are nervous to try something new with their hair and it's my job to offer colors/styles/cuts that will compliment them. My clients trust me because I am open and honest with them, I want them to feel beautiful and confident when they leave my salon. I love the look on my clients' faces when they see their freshly colored/styled hair and their face lights up with a huge smile and you can tell they love it. You know it's good hair when they are already taking selfies and snaps before they've even left the salon. My favorite thing is when my clients send me selfies of their hair, thanking me for making them feel beautiful. It's the best part of what I do.

What’s your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part about my job is the freedom to express myself through creating art via hair every single day. I am so blessed to be able to love what I do and look forward to going to work every day. No day is ever the same and that keeps it exciting! I am so thankful to all of my amazing clients for trusting me with their hair and allowing me to do what I love. I get to create lots of fun colors and even more fun styling for events. Making other people happy fuels my own happiness and creating beautiful hair allows me to do just that.
