Nowadays there are plenty of brands that offer options for everyone. When you're about to choose the perfect glitter, make sure this one is safe for you and for the environment. Once I spotlight this… Welcome to the glitter world!
Starlight Sprinkle Sequin Outfit
As I already said, when we get into the glitter trend, there is freedom of choices, but one of the most popular is the chunky glitter. This type of shimmer is thicker than the normal, adding a powerful shine on every look. It’s common for them to add cute shapes to it: Hearts, stars or just a couple of flakes to add texture and make it strong.
I would recommend using this type of glitter specially on the hair. You can put it directly to the roots to upgrade any hairstyle; space buns, pigtails and braids are good options, but it will also look fantastic with loose hair! Chunky glitter is perfect to highlight. Another option is to add it to specific parts of your body. What about your cheekbones or collar bones? Take the risk, it looks beautiful.
In most cases, this kind of product comes ready to use, but if not… My favorite trick is to mix it with clear hair gel and apply it with a brush. It’s completely safe and once it dries, it’s timeless approved for the rave. Btw, you can use this tip everytime glitter doesn’t have a way to stick.
Lunautics Zenon UV Reactive Glitter
The fierce combo! One of my favorite things about glitter is that it’s easy to use. I’m really bad at makeup, but adding it to my natural look changes literally everything and makes me look like a pro. You can wear the twinkle applying it directly to your eyelid or tear duct, try with funny colors as neons to enhance the look and to add depth. Same story with the lips, either if you prefer full glittery or just a thin coat on some colorful base, matching the shine of eyes and lips is a good way to improve the whole style.
iHeart Lunautics Supernova Glitter
Let’s get covered in fairy dust! A shimmery skin looks gorgeous, give your body a special glow using glitter. This is the best way to complement your rave outfit, standing out for the parts that are not covered with clothes. Your shoulders, chest, arms and legs are good to go, but in case you want to give a sexy taste, you can also apply it on your booty.
Rave glitter was made for cosmetic use, so in case you are too worried about the removal… It’s just as easy as regular makeup. Use your creativity and dare to try! Festivals are a safe place to express yourself.

The 2024 Get Funky lineup is one that you cannot miss. With headliners like Kaskade, Tchami, and Malaa, Get Funky is set to bring the summer vibes. Catch sets from supporting acts like Wax Motif, Wuki, and Chris Lorenzo with even more throughout the two-day festival weekend. Get Funky started as a one-day festival to bring in the summer, but quickly grew to a two-day event after it became so popular.
This year's Get Funky Festival will take place from June 21-22 at The Great Saltair just outside of Salt Lake City, UT. You can grab tickets here, and prices start at $125 for a two-day GA pass! Check out the 2024 Get Funky lineup below:
The Great Saltair is just a short drive outside Salt Lake's bustling downtown. Grab an Uber from downtown or take one of the shuttles offered by the festival for an easy ride. Get a shuttle pass here. You can also drive out there, but be aware that you'll need a pre-paid parking pass. You can grab a parking pass at the festival website.
The weather in Salt Lake at this time of year is warm, but not hot. Be prepared for some possible summer rain, but don't feel like you have to bring a coat! Here are some of my fav picks for Get Funky this year:

This Alice in Wonderland-inspired music festival returns this June 22-26 to George, Washington. Dedicated to increasing the accessibility of this storybook-meets-psychedelic-magic to the Pacific Northwest, this year’s thematic edition comes to life as Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge: Mad Tea Party.
House, bass, riddim, hardstyle, techno–you name it and it’s there on this spectacular lineup presented on three stages. Those three stages are: Cheshire Woods, Caterpillar’s Garden, and Queen’s Valley. Major artists to create the wonderland’s soundscape include Max Styler, SIDEPIECE, Jessica Audiffred, REZZ, Of The Trees, and so many more!
Special performances will grace the stages such as Mellodeath (Marshmello x SVDDEN DEATH), Odd Mob + Omnom Present: Hyperbeam, KAYZO Unleashed XL, and Smoakland B2B SIPPY. With such heavy-hitters on this year’s lineup, don’t forget to bring your earplugs! Check out the full lineup and official playlist to prepare for the tea time of your life!
Besides the inclusion of major artists we all know and love, Insomniac performers ALWAYS infiltrate the festival grounds near interactive art installations with more of Alice In Wonderland’s storybook elements from the page to right in front of your own eyes. If you ever wanted to meet the Queen of Hearts in person, you might just have the opportunity at this festival!
GA, GA+, and VIP passes range from $230-383 with layaway plans. Looking for the best views of the stage? The SkyDeck pass can provide private table service as well as access to all areas including other parts of the SkyDeck. Whether you like chilling in glamping tents, RV, or your handy-dandy tent, there’s six camping options to accommodate everyone!
Of course, there’s basic amenities such as showers, bathrooms, and free filtered water. Not only that, Beyond Wonderland PNW curates free campground activities each day like a late-night silent disco, a costume party, and bingo! Reserve your camping passes now while availability lasts and save the Campground Activities Schedule to your camera roll! For all camping info such as amenities, safety/rules, and more visit here.
The Gorge Amphitheatre is known for festival-friendly summer weather but is 43-155 miles away from local airports which makes it a journey with a fantasy destination! Have no fear with Insomniac’s official Beyond Wonderland PNW travel information and services to help you on your trip down the rabbit hole!
If you were wondering about shuttle services, there aren’t any available shuttle services from the airport to the Gorge Amphitheater. Albeit, if you’re not interested in camping at the festival grounds, there’s plenty of luxury resort and/or hotel packages for a premium stay; check out resort and hotel packages here for a smoother experience.
FYI: you can make a hotel arrangement without purchasing a luxury resort package. Make your flight schedule and arrangements even easier with the official Beyond Wonderland flight finder tool to book the correct flight.
This festival welcomes you to dress up as any Alice in Wonderland character of your choice: the Queen of Hearts, Alice, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, or the White Rabbit. But, if you see me there, I’ll be dressed as one of the playing card soldiers!
Here are some fits that we would wear inspired by the trippy world of Alice In Wonderland!

Platforms
Platform boots are already a staple in rave fashion. They elevate your look and make you feel like a total baddie. In the 2000s, platform sandals were huge. Now this style is making an appearance at raves. These Demonia Cross My Heart Platform Sandals channel Y2K energy while adhering to modern trends and rave styles.
Anthony Wang Nocturnal Mood Platform Ankle Boots
Rise to the Top Platform Boots
Playful accessories
Lucky for us, Y2K fashion included tons of adorable accessories. Think dainty, girly and colorful. Tinted sunnies, especially light pink, were a necessity. Check out these ESQAPE Heartbeats Frameless Glasses for inspo. Another important accessory was a body chain. These super cute waist accents will sparkle in the sunlight and add that extra something your outfit needs.
High Tech Life Geometric Glasses
Iridescence Butterfly Claw Clips
Feathers
If you aren’t already, you’re going to be seeing marabou accents everywhere you look very soon. These feathers are stylish, soft and add a fun twist to any piece. If you’re looking to rock this Y2K trend, the Bubbly Baby Marabou Halter Top has the right color scheme and a groovy print. Bonus points because it has matching pants and a matching fan! You could also let the feathers take over with something like the Rainbow Reverie Faux Fur Bikini Top and Mini Skirt.
Pastels
Show off your Y2K style in pastel pinks, blues and purples. This is your chance to model the “baby girl” aesthetic in the chicest way possible. Of course, the Recycled Fabric Rave Baby Ruffle Bikini Top is great for this trend! It’s feminine, pastel and has ruffled sleeves, so it’s pretty much the perfect Y2K rave fit. Don’t forget the matching Recycled Fabric Rave Baby Ruffle High Waist Bottoms!
Mini skirts
When it comes to mini skirts, the tinier the better. During the Y2K era, these skirts were usually low waisted and just barely had you covered. You can stick with that original look, or go for something a little more modern. High waisted mini skirts, like the Buttercup Baby Sequin Mini Skirt, are a great example of an updated version of this trend.
Rainbow Reflective Daisy Outfit
Chokers
Various styles of chokers have had their moment in the ‘90s, ‘00s and even the ‘10s. The main difference is that during Y2K, dainty, colorful chokers were the way to go. The Hot Shot Heart Choker has it all, from a pastel color to a cutesy, heart-shaped ring.
Night Light Holo O-Ring Choker
Butterflies
Butterflies have already made their comeback in rave fashion, but they were also huge in the 2000s. Specifically, everyone was wearing butterfly accessories, like hair clips. The Butterfly Fantasia Hair Clips will pair perfectly with these Butterfly Utopia Earrings. Or, if you’re looking to combine multiple trends into one, check out the Free As A Butterfly Silver Belly Chain and Fly Free Butterfly Choker Set.

Gemini placements are very social creatures. If u have prominent Gemini placements in your birth chart ur probably a social butterfly, and u love fluttering around a festival to make new friends and experience as much as u can. On the other hand, u probably have a very intimate side too. A lot of people think Gemini placements are two-faced, but the truth is that u just have two major sides to your personality that each come out at different times.
Gemini girlies are probably equally focused on comfort and fashion. U need something that will get u around the festival but it also has to be compliment-worthy. U have amazing style and even though we've got fits for days that would bring out the best in ur Gemini razzle dazzle but ur probably going to mix & match to make something even more fab than we could ever imagine.
Here are my top picks for u, Gemini. If u don't have this air sign in ur big 3, though, don't worry. I'll be posting a new guide each month so keep an eye out for next month when I go over you rave babes with Cancer in ur sun, moon, and rising.
While people might question if they rly know u at times, absolutely no one is questioning whether ur a true Gemini, babe. Ravers with Gemini in their sun sign are the life of the party, but good luck keeping track of u because ur also probably missing. U march to the beat of ur own drum and u don't need to wait for a group to explore something new. Ur style is kind of all over the place, but it always comes together in a way that is truly authentic to who u are—u know what ur doing.
Everyone around u wants to get closer to u because ur magnetic, but that might mean that u feel like most people don't truly know u. That can be tough, but u always have the dance floor to work out ur problems on. Here are my top picks for u, Gemini sun, inspired by my favorite Gemini rave babe, Mika:
Rolita Couture x iHR Floral Frenzy Punk Princess Outfit
With the social Gemini representing ur inner personality, Gemini moon, ur probably a little less outwardly social than those with Gemini in their sun. U definitely have the restlessness of Gemini and ur always off learning or doing something new, but u might be more of a researcher than a teacher. Ur probably the one checking out every single set at a festival because u get bored easily and need to keep moving, and u love learning weird facts about the band or DJ onstage in the Wikipedia hole u get into later on.
Here are my top picks for u, Gemini Moon:
U want to do it all, Gemini Rising. U probably have a desire to check out everything there is at the festival, which can feel overwhelming at a place like EDC or Coachella where there is so much to do and only so much time to do it. U thrive in social situations but sometimes u can get overwhelmed, so learn to recognize when to take a break to recharge.
Ur style is probably all over the place just because u always want to try new things, but just like your sun and moon counterparts, it's always authentic to who u are. Here are my top picks for u, Gemini rising:

]]>If you really want to lean into this trend, butterflies can make a great centerpiece for your outfit. You can pick one major butterfly piece or use butterflies as an accent in hair clips or other accessories!
Butterfly Realm Glow In The Dark Outfit
Stand out in bright colors, flowy fabrics and big prints. There are some fabulous butterfly-themed sets out there to help you feel like the ultimate PLUR Princess. Check out the Groovy Butterfly Glam Outfit if you want to completely cover yourself in butterflies and get groovy on the dance floor.
Touch The Sky Stars & Butterfly Hair Clips
If you have an outfit that needs some help, accessorize with butterflies! They make for a super cute and dainty addition to any look. Try hair clips, pasties, jewelry or sunglasses. If you want to make the trend a little more edgy, go for this Butterfly Kisses Body Chain. No matter the vibe you’re giving off, butterfly accessories can make a great accent piece!
You can still rock this trend without covering yourself head to toe in butterflies. These Lunatics X savormeditation Butterfly Beatz Body Jewels could be just what you need to complete your look and dazzle the crowd. You can also use butterfly face gems or glitter to add some shine to your style. It doesn’t matter if your outfit is already butterfly themed or not, a little sparkle could be the perfect finishing touch.
Happy Haven Long Sleeve Ultra Crop Top
Embrace your feminine side with pastel colors, sparkles and all things girly. You can build a truly enchanting look with these styles. A pastel mesh top would look gorgeous with the Pastease Holo Silver Butterflies. A sparkly set with butterfly accessories could also create a girly outfit that’s sure to make you feel great about yourself!
Butterfly patterns are probably the easiest way to achieve a butterfly-centered outfit. Depending on the colors and design, you can pair a butterfly pattern with a ton of different pieces. If you’re going for a darker style, check out the BB Ur So Fly Halter One Piece. Do you want a softer look? Try this Treasure The Funk Butterfly Mini Skirt.
Butterflies have been taking over rave fashion, so you’ll probably see a lot of them this summer. Now you have some ideas of different ways to style this trend. You can make it totally your own, going with a more edgy, dreamy, groovy, or completely unique look! Have fun building your butterfly-inspired fits, we can’t wait to see them this festival season!
]]>Fresh off the release of her new single, "Shadows of Deceit", AUSTERIA is gearing up for a major festival season. We caught up with her just before her Solshine performance to talk about everything from her music to her festival style. She even curated some picks of her favorite savormeditation pieces.
Get tickets for Solshine Reverie here.
iHR: Tell us a bit about how you got into DJing? Which came first, DJing or producing?
AUSTERIA: I went to my first dance music events in high school and instantly fell in love with the music and community. Honestly, becoming a DJ really never crossed my mind until I started seeing women like Rezz and Alison Wonderland climbing the ranks, seeing that really opened my eyes to the possibility. The second I learned that you can make music on your computer, I downloaded a DAW and started teaching myself via tutorials online. So, technically, I started with producing, but I was really teaching myself both simultaneously in my parent’s basement.
Road to Revenge Lace Up Platform Boots
“These are classic black platform boots that will match almost anything.”
iHR: Tell us a bit about your production process. How do you go about writing songs?
A: It depends on the song! I usually pick a key, bpm, and genre first and then start a rough draft of an intro and kind of work through the song from start to finish. Then, I’ll return to different sections and flesh them out more. Sometimes I have a theme and title before starting the project, and sometimes I find the theme/vibe along the way.
iHR: You've had a couple of new releases recently, could you tell us about them?
A: Absolutely! I recently did a remix of Sully’s song ‘Impossible’ featuring Sarah McTaggart which was super fun to do. By the time this interview comes out, my newest single ‘Shadows of Deceit’ will be out and I’m really excited for that. I’ve recently been working with vocals more and it’s been a lot of fun to learn more about vocal production and the story telling that comes with that.
“This is the perfect crossbody bag, so you can keep your valuables in front of you to protect from theft.”
iHR: Any upcoming releases we can get excited about?
A: I have a collaboration with Zingara and another official remix that will be coming out soon and I’m really excited about both of those. I’m working on a few other collaborations at the moment, as well as my next EP, so there will be a lot to look out for and be excited about this year.
iHR: What are some of your musical inspirations?
A: My musical influences change with whatever is going on in my life, but the one constant has always been alternative, pop punk, and metalcore bands. Currently, my biggest inspirations right now are Sleep Token and Bad Omens. From their songwriting and production to their stage presence, branding and story telling, I just find both bands to be very inspiring. It has totally shifted how I think of my own project and the future I see for ‘Austeria.’
Bound Together Fingerless Gloves
“A cute accessory that can spice up any look.”
iHR: What are you most excited about for your upcoming Solshine performance?
A: This is my first festival of the season so I am super excited to see everyone, dance around, be in the festival spirit and explore. This will also be the first time I’m playing out my newest release, ‘Shadows of Deceit,’ so I’m really looking forward to that.
“Classic joggers, ladies don’t be afraid to shop in the men’s section!”
iHR: What is your craziest rave or festival memory?
A: This is a tough question, but I think I have to give my craziest festival memory award to Lost Lands 2017 when the volcano started burning down at the main stage during Destroid.
iHR: Where do you look for inspiration when it comes to festival fashion?
A: I honestly look at what my peers and friends are doing and then put my own taste/spin to it. It’s been a journey figuring out how I want to present myself as a woman while performing at these events for a variety of reasons. My main concern is being comfortable up there. In the past I’ve just thrown on a big t-shirt and called it a day, which I still do, but I’m trying to branch out from that and explore different options and be more comfortable in my skin. I’ve always felt this unseen pressure to dress more masculine as a performing DJ, but I’m trying to leave that behind! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like I’ve felt a shift in this mindset among my peers and it’s inspired me to branch out as well.
Techno Temptation Strappy Bra Top
iHR: What are some of your favorite festival or rave fashion trends?
A: I love a small-top-big-pants combo. I also really love the crochet top trend that’s going on right now. Everyone looks so cute. I love when people wear costumes and dress up as their favorite characters or faeries and go all out. And most importantly, I love the sprouts. Sprouts make me happy.
iHR: If you made a piece of Kandi today, what would it say?
A: “Tippy in my teacup”
]]>If there's one style that we can get behind, it's the cyberpunk look. This look is all about channeling visions of the future that we saw in turn of the century movies like Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. Here's how to bring our your inner cyberpunk baddie for the rave or festival this season.
First things first, black is the new black. Seriously, you can't go wrong with all-black outfits. Think sleek, tight-fitting clothes that scream "I'm here to party." From bodycon dresses to high-waisted leggings and crop tops, black is your bestie. Look for pieces with cool cutouts or mesh details to add that extra edge. Plus, black goes with EVERYTHING. You’ll be turning heads left and right!
Sunflowerraver x iHR I'm Sensitive Cutout Bodysuit Outfit
Shiny things alert! ✨ Cyberpunk isn't complete without some metallic bling. Go for statement pieces like chunky silver chains, holographic belts, and reflective sunglasses. Don't be afraid to mix and match different metallics – silver, chrome, and even rose gold can work together if you style them right. And don't forget those futuristic visors – they’re the perfect accessory to make you look like you just stepped out of a sci-fi movie!
Slander x iHR Electric Edge Reflective Outfit
Now let's talk textures. Cyberpunk is all about mixing and matching different fabrics to create a look that's out of this world. Leather jackets or pants give off that tough, badass vibe. Vinyl skirts or leggings add a slick, shiny touch. And fishnet? It's perfect for layering. Throw on a fishnet top over a bralette or under a crop top for a look that's both edgy and sexy. Play around and see what combos make you feel like a cyber queen!
Your hair is just as important as your outfit, babes. For that cyberpunk look, go for sleek, straight hair. Think long, shiny locks that look like they’ve been styled with a laser beam. If you want to take it up a notch, add some colorful streaks or even try out a bold, unnatural color like electric blue or neon green. And don't forget, space buns and high ponytails are always a vibe.
Last but definitely not least – shoes! Platform boots are an absolute must. Not only do they give you some serious height, but they also complete the cyberpunk look perfectly. Go for black boots with buckles, studs, or even LED lights if you’re feeling extra. The chunkier, the better. Pair them with your black rave clothes and metallic accessories, and you'll be ready to dance the night away.
]]>Festival season is here, and you know what that means – it’s time to flood your feed with those perfect pics that scream, “I’m living my best life!” But getting that ultimate festival photo isn’t just about pointing and shooting. Today we're spilling our secrets to snapping those envy-inducing festival shots. 📸✨
Sunflowerraver x iHR I'm Sensitive Cutout Bodysuit
First things first, let’s talk lighting. The secret sauce? Golden hour. It’s that magical time just after sunrise or before sunset when the light is soft, golden, and oh-so-flattering. Think of it as nature’s filter, giving you that perfect glow without the need for heavy editing. Plan your snaps around these times, and thank me later. 🌅✨
Now, you can’t be out here with just any random snapping your pics. You need a photo BFF – someone who gets your angles, knows your vibe, and is down to take a million shots until you get that perfect one. Bonus points if they’re also into getting some awesome pics for themselves, so it’s a win-win situation. 📸❤️
Okay, let’s talk poses. The key is to keep it natural or go for those candid shots. No one wants to see you stiffly posing like it’s a high school yearbook photo. Laugh, dance, jump – do whatever feels natural. Pro tip: fake laugh if you have to. It might feel awkward, but it often leads to genuine smiles and laughs. 😂💃
Props can take your festival photos from meh to magical. Got a cool totem, funky glasses, or a yummy festival snack? Use them! Props add personality and tell a story. Wave that flag, sip that drink, or munch on that food – just make sure it feels authentic to your festival experience. 🥤🎉
Your background can make or break your festival photo. Look for spots that are visually interesting – think colorful murals, scenic views, or even the main stage. Avoid cluttered backgrounds unless you’re going for that chaotic festival vibe. Remember, you want your background to enhance your photo, not distract from it. 🎨🌸
Finally, editing. This is where you can really make your photos pop. Experiment with different styles until you find one that you love. Whether it’s bright and vibrant, moody and dark, or somewhere in between, the right editing can transform a good photo into a great one. Apps like VSCO, Lightroom, and even Instagram’s built-in editor are your best friends here. ✨
]]>So, you've just survived another epic Electric Daisy Carnival, and you're feeling like a headbanging tornado. We all know the post-EDC feels can hit harder than anything, so here's your ultimate guide to decompression after the festival of a lifetime.
First things first: water is your BFF. You spent the last few days dancing under the desert sky, so your body is screaming for hydration. Chug that H2O, and maybe toss in some electrolytes for good measure. Coconut water, sports drinks, or even a DIY electrolyte mix will help get you back to life.
Glitter is a vibe, but it doesn't need to live on your body forever. Hit the shower and give yourself a good scrub. Use a gentle exfoliator to get rid of the remnants of your wild weekend without wrecking your skin. Pro tip: baby oil can help with stubborn glitter patches.
EDC is a marathon, not a sprint, so your body deserves some serious pampering. Run a warm bath with Epsom salts to soothe those sore muscles. Light some candles, throw on a chill playlist, and just soak. Your body (and your soul) will thank you.
After days of festival food, your body is craving some real nourishment. Load up on fruits, veggies, and lean proteins to replenish your energy. And hey, don't be afraid to treat yourself to a pizza or your fave comfort food. Balance is key!
You've been bombarded with lights, sounds, and social media for days. Take a step back and unplug for a bit. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb, binge-watch a Netflix series, or get lost in a good book. Give your mind a break from the constant stimulation.
Take some time to reflect on your EDC experience. Journal about your favorite sets, new friends, and magical moments. Gratitude and reflection can help you process the highs and lows, keeping the positive vibes flowing long after the festival ends.
Just because EDC is over doesn’t mean the connections you made have to be. Keep in touch with your new rave buddies. Share pics, reminisce about your favorite moments, and plan your next festival adventure together. Rave fam is forever!
What better way to cure post-EDC blues than planning your next rave adventure? Whether it's another festival, a local event, or even just a weekend getaway, having something to look forward to can keep your spirits high.
Remember, decompression is all about finding your balance and restoring your energy. EDC might be over, but the memories and the vibes will stay with you forever. So take care of yourself, spread those positive vibes, and keep dancing through life!

A staple in a rave baddie’s wardrobe, fishnets add a textural component to a look that would otherwise be solid, without adding much more fabric. Fishnets are also perfect to add to your look if you are not quite comfortable yet with showing off a lot of skin because they hide enough to leave a little to the imagination.
Fishnet accents go so far beyond just tights. Use fishnet thigh highs with garters for a simple, yet fire, statement to virtually any outfit. Accentuate your arms with fishnet arm warmers and gloves. Toss a fishnet skirt over your bottoms for a look that can easily translate to a club outfit. Slip into some fishnet biker shorts to add some dimension. Wear a fishnet bodysuit to add texture EVERYWHERE. I’ve even transformed fishnet tights into a top and used a fishnet facemask as a tube top to add a little je ne sais quoi with my under bust corset.

Fishnets come in virtually any color, so why not switch up the classic black with another color that compliments the rest of your outfit? Are you wearing pink on your top, but black on your bottom? Throw on some pink fishnet stockings to mirror your color scheme without the fishnets blending in. Is your outfit completely white, but you want to wear colorful jewelry? A rainbow bodysuit would be the perfect edition to tie everything all together. Want to keep your outfit black and white? Put on one white stocking with one that is black and do the same thing with your garters

Fishnets are the perfect accent piece to add a little edgy-ness to your next look. But whatever form of fishnet you choose to wear to your next show, just beware of zipper pulls.
]]>To help you, here are our top tips for how to stay comfortable at raves so you can party safer and for longer.
When you’re in the crowd and in direct sunlight you end up getting dehydrated much faster. To combat this, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. Even if you’re not feeling thirsty, just consciously take a few sips every now and again.
Get your hands on a rave hydration backpack so you can fill up on water and not need to leave the crowd to refresh yourself. Look out for free water booths scattered around the rave!
Sunflowerraver x iHR I'm Sensitive Cutout Bodysuit Outfit
My rave friends and I call them ‘Boogie Breaks’! When we start to feel a little tired we like to exit the crowd, find a place to lay down, have a catch up on what we’ve seen so far and maybe even meet some new rave friends.
Rave responsibly and always listen to your body, don’t push it beyond its limits or you might run into the risk of needing to visit the medic tent or leave early. If you need a break to recharge, don't be afraid to say so!
Would you go to the gym on an empty stomach? Well, the same goes for raves. Dancing is as much a sport, it burns so much of your energy!
Fueling your body will assure you can stay at your peak levels of fun. Even if you’re not feeling hungry, on your next break just pass by a food vendor and grab a snack or smoothie, your body will thank you.
Wear light, comfortable and breathable rave wear. The secret is to stay away from anything itchy, that’s distracting or would prevent you from having fun.
We’re constantly updating our massive range of rave fashion. All of our designs are on-trend and functional, so you can look flawless but also be comfortable at the same time.
Your choice of footwear is just as important as your outfit. Be sure to wear a pair that are the right size for your feet so you don’t get blisters and also wear closed-toed shoes to protect your feet from something that may fall or stomp on them.
Discover our collection of must-have rave shoes! From flats to platforms, and everything in between, you’ll be sure to find a pair that’ll keep you dancing all night long.
Here are some other items that help me stay comfortable at rave and that I never leave home without. They’re all small and easy to pack, they’ll easily fit in that new hydration pack of yours:

]]>From a classic cute pastel fairy to a mushroom or fairest fairy, there are a bunch of themes you can go with when creating your look. Fairies conjure up images of nature, flowers and pixie dust; reflect these in your set, makeup and accessories.
When looking for outfit pieces, keep an eye out for anything sparkly or made with floaty fabric. Check out the tips below to get the perfect fairy rave outfit!
For a pastel fairy, a sequined set like the Roma X IHR Starry Eyed Sequin Sequin Cami Top and matching bottoms in its pastel blue shade will let you dazzle day and night or go the aerie fairy route with the Purple Wonderland Tie-Front Top, Mesh Arm Warmers, and Ruched Mesh Skirt.
Any pastel butterfly accessories, like the Lavender Butterfly Hair Clips, Flutter Wings Butterfly Choker, and Butterfly BB Vibez Sunglasses, would make this outfit look straight out of a fairytale. A set of Light Up Leg Wraps brings the whimsicality of your look into the night. Finish off your fairy theme with a pair of YRU Dune Desert Pink or Baby Blue Iridescent Platform Boots or if you prefer some shoes closer to the ground, the Pretty Please Purple or Baby Pink Chunky Sneakers will do the trick.
Let your creativity take you on an adventure when creating your makeup look. Make sure you include sparkly stickers like the Lunita X IHR Rave Fairy Cut Crease Face Jewels for an easy rhinestone cut crease or the Lunautics Rave Day Face Stickers for some holographic butterfly effects. If you are more into glitter over the stickers, the Lunautics Cosmic Galaxy which includes glitter in the shape of butterflies and stars would be a really cute touch.

If you’re looking for a more forest fairy style, any set featuring dark green is the way to go. To help guide your theme, look for accessories featuring flowers and leaves in gold for some goddess energy or in varying colors to keep it more natural. The Lunautics Layered Floral & Face Jewel Mix Pack Set is an incredibly versatile pack that you can use not only on your face, but anywhere on your body that could use some flowers and a little sparkle. Makeup featuring neutral or green tones would keep your outfit feeling earthy, but don’t be afraid to go for some colors to match your floral accessories.

Mushroom fairies have been trending this past year with people donning their homemade mushroom hats. A set featuring white ruffles and a red mini skirt with white spots all over would be the perfect sort of cute for a cottage core mushie vibe.

The great thing about neutrals is that you can match them with pretty much any color you choose. I love wearing neons with black, because the contrast really makes the color pop. The neutral/neon style is super versatile too. It’s easy to mix and match pieces, so you could create a brand new outfit from what’s already in your closet! Not sure how to get started putting the fit together? Try pairing a neon with a neutral mesh, or look for pieces that already mix neon and neutral, like the Break The Matrix High Waisted Harness Booty Shorts.
Get Down Girl Recycled Fabric Outfit
When styling a trend, why not go all out? Pick your favorite neon color and sport it from head to toe! You can accessorize with neon hair extensions, glitter, jewelry, sunglasses, the possibilities are endless. This is a great opportunity for one pieces, like this Neon Lights Mesh Cut Out Mini Dress. Because this style is trending so hard right now, you’ll also be able to find a ton of neon-based outfits, like this Neon Pinksicle Outfit. Looking to match with your rave fam? It won’t be too hard to find similar monochrome outfits in different colors, and it’ll make for awesome photos!

If monochrome isn’t your thing and you’d rather go with a more colorful style, make it rainbow. A neon rainbow fit is sure to make you stand out in the crowd, and it can be a great way to show off your pride! Pro tip: if you search “Rolita Couture” on savormeditation, you’ll find a ton of great pieces for a rainbow neon outfit. A couple of our favorites are the Rolita Couture x IHR Geo Trouble Crop Top and the Rolita Couture Rainbow Kisses Wrap Top.

Sporting an all black or white outfit, but still want to incorporate some color? A splash of neon might be just what you need to create the perfect fit. This is a great time to let your hair and makeup skills shine, literally. A little glitter can go a long way. If you want something low maintenance, just slap on some hair and body glitter in your chosen neon color and you’ll have a subtle pop of color catching the sun as you dance. Neon face jewels would also pair well with this look. If you’re looking to get creative with your makeup, you have endless options. Neon eyeshadow, glitter and body paint can help you show off your talents and rock this trend.
No matter how you decide to wear your neon, you’re going to look great! While some neons are more common, like pink, green, orange and yellow, you’ll be able to find other colors too. This makes the trend great, because you have the freedom to choose the best color for you. It’s all about what makes you feel good and gets you in the mood to rave. If you need more inspiration, you can check out these outfits styled by the savormeditation team. ]]>Nothing makes a statement quite like graphic eyeliner. Whether you go for black, white, or colored liner, you can accentuate your eyes by drawing geometric lines, dual wings, or unique shapes. Look for a colored, waterproof, liquid eyeliner to create this look and use the natural shape of your eye as a guide for where to place the lines.
It’s EDC, so it’s time to pull out all the stops! Stick-on gems add all the bling to your rave look. There are single press-on rhinestones or packs of jewels you can apply above your eyebrows or below your eyes. Some are even reusable and can be applied with eyelash glue if the stick starts to fade!
Be a show-stopper by applying temporary tats to your face! You can use them on your cheekbones, next to your eyes, or above your brows. You can also pair them with face jewels to put them around your body as seen above.
This is my personal go-to rave look. I do my classic black eyeliner wing with no shadow on my lid - but then I add a pop of neon color to the inner corner of my eyes. I especially love doing this with shimmery, holographic eye shadow. It brightens and draws attention to the eyes.
Go with the full rainbow spectrum this EDC! You can apply ROYGBIV to each eyelid - or, do red, orange, and yellow on one lid, and green, blue, and purple on the other lid for a look that spans your whole face
Filling in your brows is a common step for applying makeup, but have you ever tried a vivid, colorful brow? You can use eye shadow or even a colored liner to fill them in with a color of your choice, letting your brows take the center stage of your look!
If you’re doing a single colored outfit, like an all pink or an all neon green look, stick with that monochrome color for your makeup. It will tie your whole look together. Adding some stick-on rhinestones that match your color will put the cherry on top.
I’m obsessed with holographic, shimmery, color-shifting makeup! Adding some holographic color to your cheekbones will keep you looking like a shimmery fairy all night long.
Have you ever tried to paint on cow spots, plaid lines, or fluffy clouds to your eyelids? EDC could be the opportunity you’re waiting for! Depending on your outfit, match a bold pattern and apply it to your eyes.
Would you go with red, orange, yellow, or green, blue, purple? Pick a side - warm or cool - and use that for your makeup inspiration. You can use colored liners, shimmery eye shadows, and vivid lipstick to make this hot or cold look come to life. Bonus points: your best friend can be the hot to your cold, or vice versa!
No matter which makeup idea you go for, be sure to apply setting spray before heading to EDC to lock in your makeup for a long night of dancing! It’s smart to bring eyelash glue or lipstick with you in case of an emergency re-apply. The hardest part, for me at least, is not touching my face once my makeup is on! If applied correctly and set in place with setting spray, it’s best not to mess with it. But, I would recommend sticking a few cotton swabs in your bag, just in case you need to touch up the area under your eyes. We’ll all be crying during our favorite sets, but we’ve got to keep our makeup looking fire. Remember to stay hydrated and have an amazing time under the electric sky!
]]>Bonnaroo takes place every summer on a farm in Tennessee (check out our guide here for everything you need to know about going to the festival). Accessories can complete any outfit that you wear. What better way to layer your all black outfit with dark pieces of jewelry to complete the look! Here are some essential black jewelry to wear for your outfit.
Faux leather pieces add another dimension to all black outfits. Playing with different textures and looks of black pieces can really make you stand out.
An outfit isn’t complete until you pair it with some cute black shoes! Nowadays, there are so many different styles of shoes like chunky books and shoes with tons of chains and accessories on them. Shoes are also super important because you’ll be on your feet all day and night so you want to find something that is sturdy and gives you protection from other people that might accidentally step on your feet.
Choosing outfits and colors can be haunting and stressful, but you can never go wrong with an all black outfit! Black colors give off sexy vibes and with different textures and materials like faux leather and mesh. If you can’t decide what to wear to a rave or festival, you can create an ultimate look with black outfits and pieces that will have people turning heads at the rave!
]]>Bonnaroo can be incredibly fun or be the complete opposite if you come unprepared! The event is just around the corner so I thought I’d provide tips and tricks that you’ll need to plan a successful and stress-free experience at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
The festival’s website provides plenty of information on all the different ticket types available. If it’s your first time going, it’s worth reading through it to understand what’s included in each ticket to find the one that’s right for you. There are quite a few ticket options that determine the experience you'll have. You can do anything from GA to an ultra-VIP experience that includes a nicer camping area, golf cart transportation to each stage, unlimited food and drink and special viewing at each stage.
Always remember, festival admission tickets do not include camping passes, so you’ll need to buy them separately. You can also choose tiered camping passes based on the experience you want to have. Tickets and camping passes range from affordable prices to higher prices for a more luxury experience, but give a lot of variety to pick from. You can get both camping and festival passes here.
Driving is the most popular travel option for Bonnaroovians. Most people drive into the festival, either by car, RV, or uHaul… But if driving isn’t your thing, rest assured there are also shuttle routes departing from different places to get you to the festival grounds. No matter which mode of transport you go for, you need to pre-book your pass with your festival ticket. Make sure you do so in advance before they sell out!
The drive to Manchester is about an hour outside of Nashville or about three and a half hours northwest of Atlanta. Both airports are easily accessible from most US cities and offer lots of rental car options.
When you’re making your travel plans, keep in mind that the sooner you arrive the closer to the festival entrance you’ll be! The campgrounds fill from front to back so as long as you plan your trip accordingly you won’t get stuck in one of the furthest campsites. Anticipate long lines as you get closer to the festival, so add at least an hour to your travel time for the time you'll spend waiting in line.
Sunshine isn’t always in the forecast, it’s not uncommon for it to rain and for temperatures to drop. And when it rains at Bonnaroo it pours, so the festival grounds can get really muddy. Bring what you need to stay dry and warm if the weather turns:
On the other hand, it can also get very hot and sunny which requires a whole other list of essentials. Whatever you do, before you start packing check the weather forecast to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your time at the festival. Here are a few necessities you should think about packing:
Depending on which area you’re assigned to at the campgrounds, you might end up having to walk quite a distance to get to the thick of the action in Centeroo. Blisters can easily ruin your entire festival weekend so bring the right footwear and socks. Or if you can’t forego your platforms, make sure you have a few dollars to spare each day to catch a pedicab from the campgrounds to Centeroo, and back!

When it doesn’t rain at Bonnaroo a giant cloud of dust will start to surface as soon as the masses of people start trampling all over the festival grounds. Make sure you bring a bandana or face mask to avoid ingesting heaps of dust.
Bonnaroo showers are notoriously dirty and the queues can take forever! Arm yourself with some baby wipes to combat any sand, mud or sweat you encounter and need to wipe off.
The campgrounds are massive so finding your tent can be tricky, particularly late at night when it’s dark and you’re tired. Pack a flashlight to make it easier to find your way back! It will definitely come in handy when you’re walking through the campgrounds late at night and even in some parts of the festival.
The festival is the size of a small town, over 100,000 people attend each year so it’s really easy to lose your friends in the crowd. Have a totem, flag or floatie that you can spot from a distance and you’ll never lose your group again! When you’re not using it in the crowd you can hang it at your campsite so you’ve got something to look out for when you’re walking back to your tent.
Be mindful of what you pack, check Bonnaroo’s official list of prohibited items before you load up your vehicle to prepare for a seamless car check on arrival. Car checks are random but you never know if you’ll end up having your vehicle searched so always respect the rules and be prepared.
Ensure that everyone in your group that wants to camp together gets in line together, this will guarantee you get to set up next to one another. Bonnaroo crew members won’t wait on your group and definitely won’t save spots for anyone on the campgrounds.
I hope these tips get you well on your way to planning the most incredible weekend at Bonnaroo! Need some inspo for your ‘fits? ]]>As gates opened and RESIDUO welcomed ravers to this intergalactic party, they were greeted by the legendary flying saucer PHXLIGHTS sign inspiring those to snag a quick picture with their rave families, or should I say fellow space cadets? When the sun finally vanished to reveal the stars in the black sky, night 1’s special B2B performance showcased JOYRYDE B2B Habstrakt was loved to the moon and back.
Watching JOYRYDE collaborate with a friend and fellow DJ-producer Habstrakt on stage livened him to express his delight that spread to the crowd’s body language. JOYRYDE said he was grateful to be there at PHXLIGHTS with his friends and family while rainbow visuals were displayed in the background. With this masterful combination of these two heavy-hitting names, it created another flavor of bass house that felt extremely special to PHXLIGHTS.
If this set couldn't become more special for this duo, JOYRYDE asked the crowd to wish Habstrakt him a happy birthday and the crowd without hesitation proceeded. In the midst of everyone dancing themselves clean, a rave family dressed as a group of astronauts in full helmet gear!
For the past three years in Arizona’s EDM scene, the spinning cloths, formally known as flow stars, weren't extremely popular, but they were popular in Arizona this weekend! It was eye-opening to see this new and upcoming change happening in the local flow art print paired with matching Kritter Klips and a tail!
It wasn’t exactly related to aliens but it was a space-strawberry-inspired look! Seeing this specific outfit inspired me to buy matching Kritter Klips and corresponding tail at The Dreamland Studios vending booth! One unexpected perk about this festival map: there was always a food vendor in close proximity to every stage which saved time!
On night 2, ALLEYCVT shared her space bass transcending the crowd, followed by Apashe and Dr. Oliver Tree. After, the crowd finally made it to their destination into a futuristic soundscape with Deorro B2B Valentine Khan and Kaskade.
@olddirtyleather & @svnshine.fm
Extraterrestrial Earthlings at The Evo Silent Disco
Two channels hosting to the sounds of house, bass, DnB, and the genre-bending combination of all of it was a perfect spot to spend time away from the main stage if you needed a break from the crowd. Plus, who doesn't like channel surfing to give support to all of the artists? By the end of the night 1, most people scattered this stage’s dance floor to see Seven Lions.
Even though PRETTYHARD’s performance was the second to last set for this stage, Sed’s Vortex was seen at the front of the stage supporting him–seeing DJ-producer-couples support one another is another form of PLUR in my book! Night 2 scheduled artists DOMINATRIX, SAFEWORD, and more to continue Arizona’s trip beyond the galaxy.
BeatBox Invasion Stage: Abducted by the Sound
Near the outskirts of the BeatBox Invasion Stage, Weird & Wonderful cast members were dressed in chrome outfits and large green yoda ears! If you’re a stage-hopper like me, watching performers in full character on the way to the next stage deserves to be listed on the itinerary of fun at every festival!
Despite the Invasion stage being a side stage, many would think this stage wouldn’t rise to the occasion with a packed stage, but this stage was packed during SEPPI’s hardcore performance that had everyone dancing to every bass drop on night 1! District XII, a local heavy riddim DJ, still had dancers clinging to every heavy bass drop because Arizona celebrates local artists from their community like any other headliner! Night 2 carried another well-loved riddim DJ-producer BLVCKROSE, Cafe Caderas, and more to end the weekend’s excursion.
Couldn’t make it to PHXLIGHTS this year? Check out the Relentless Beats event calendar here to get yourself back on the dance floor this festival season!]]>With 180 events taking place anywhere from 8-12 hours each day, some of those events include the well-known Ultra Music Festival, The Electronic Dance Music Awards, and Afterlife at the Miami Marine Stadium. Turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and pool parties claim the territory of Downtown Miami and Collins Avenue on Miami Beach all week, making MMW a sophisticated experience all ravers should experience.
Planning your event and performance schedule every MMW is incredibly unique to you as you can plan events around the clock for 24-hours according to your favorite artists, organizers, and venues! Visiting some of the most renowned venues in the EDM scene such as Factory Town and Club Space is a bucket-list experience, especially if you’re dying to expose yourself outside of your local scene!
In general, some B2B sets may reappear on different festival lineups here and there in order to reach the ears and hearts of more ravers. However, Miami Music Week truly curates B2B sets or even B2B2BB2B you can only experience for one and one night only making it a once-in-a -lifetime experience every year.
This week also encourages so many artists to share new music in the form of unreleased tracks, the debut of their record label’s events, or music from their side projects.
New ravers: have you ever heard of The Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs)? In short, the EDMAs it’s an exclusive, upscale, and free red carpet event happening during Miami Music Week, look no further! Located at the Eden Roc Hotel, The EDMAs organizes surprise performers and a secret lineup announced just before the event begins.
EDM-enthusiasts can vote for their favrite artists, record labels, and request their favorite artists to appear as the guest performers. Thursday’s pre-party featured Luci, Dev, HAYLA, Sam Blacky and more! Friday's party (and afterparty) showcased deadmau5, Electric Polar Bears B2B Kastra, Tim Clark, and Kaskade! Eden Roc Hotel as a venue creates a close atmosphere for fans to meet their favorite artists as they hop off the small stage next to the Miami Beach shore!
The time to experience your favorite artist in the front row without fighting your way to the front is now and here at the EDMAs. This hotel-turned-venue even sells fresh coconut water with the Eden Roc Hotel logo branded on the coconut–take a walk on the finer, classy side! For a full recap of the winners, visit here. Come celebrate one of the biggest nights of the year in EDM and attend during MMW 2025!
The Beauty of BLNK CNVS
If you ever find yourself in Miami, BLNK CNVS curates some of the rarest and hedonistic-good EDM events! In short, good music is the name of the game for this organizer, especially curating 31 events in total for the entire week! Some of the most notable events were Deadbeats vs. Cyclops Recordings, Sidepiece: Kiss & Tell Pool Party, and Rezz - Can You See Me with special guest Dr. Fresch to name a few.
The rare element in BLNK CNVS events during MMW isn’t just their excellent showcase of surprise/secret guest performers but also its underground, experimental nature in lineup curation. One of the most secret lineups during the week was SVDDEN DEATH’s Miami debut of his dark house project Dead Room which featured Smoakland and SVDDEN DEATH himself! This specific event didn’t release a lineup, but SVDDEN DEATH shared the flier and ticket link like an easter egg surprise for those who love his side project!
At Deadbeats vs. Cyclops Recordings, Subtronics was the secret B2B guest artist performing alongside Zeds Dead! Subtronics shared his new remix of “Black Ice” with the crowd and made them feel like they couldn’t hear it anywhere else!
The dance floor was in a frenzy and by the end of the night, the dance floor was glistening with a layer of everyone’s fallen drinks–feral, right? And, if I’m being honest, seeing Marie Antoinette paintings at Mad Club Wynwood during Walker & Royce: Rules Don’t Apply felt like I was transcended into a rich mindset that didn’t include eating cake, but consuming some of the best EDM out there!
Despite John Summit rising to fame from Chicago, IL, John Summit becomes an entirely different kind of feral animal when performing in Miami! John Summit, one of the biggest names in (tech) house, is the label head of Experts Only which used to be named Off The Grid.
As for Repopulate Mars, Lee Foss is the legend of deep house behind this label. Organized by Link Miami Rebels, this debut event taking place from 7pm-7am: Experts Only + Repopulate Mars was the opening night commencing both labels’ event series as the first of many to surface the EDM scene!
As many know John Summit as a master in house, Experts Only (including Experts Only Radio) allows him to produce anything and everything without creative limits! Don’t believe me? Check out this new unreleased ID taking place that night at Factory Town: John Summit x Tape B x Subtronics remix of Sage The Gemini’s “Gas Pedal”.
If you’re wondering if he screamed in the microphone, “Miami, how the fuck we feeling, baby?”, he indeed did it three times throughout the night. Other than John Summit and Lee Foss, Joshwa, Deeper Purpose, and Jake Shore. Seeing Joshwa B2B Lee Foss B2B Detlef was magic I know I wouldn’t have found anywhere else other than Miami Music Week!
We all know ravers were in for a surprise to find themselves shuffling in murky puddles and trading kandi in plastic ponchos in the rain at Ultra Music Festival. But, what about other events happening at the same time? In MMW’s defense, dancing in the rain always feels cinematic! If you were anything like me, you waited in your hotel room in the hopes of saving yourself from catching a cold. Factory Town and other venues were forced to postpone events for safety reasons just as Ultra Music Festival.
Pool parties were either postponed until weather conditions improved or were moved indoors, so it wasn’t a disaster by any means. But, flight delays soon followed and I decided to stay in Miami for an extra day spending the afternoon on the beach with a coconut–don’t you love happy accidents? Allow this be a cautionary tale to always check the weather before planning your MMW experience!
After Saturday’s rainstorms, “Happy Miami Music Week” was the message gleamed across the sky of Miami beach shores’ skies from an airplane banner, on the dance floor between never-seen-before performances. Most pool parties taking place on Collins Avenue had exits that lead directly on white-sand paths leading to beach shores on your way to another event. In the best way, I wasn’t used to this as most festival campgrounds lead to forests or deserts! Most DJ-producers are there at MMW to perform, accept an award at The EDMAs, or partake in the experience as well! It’s casual to see artists join their friends on stage for surprise B2B sets or to enjoy the ambiance.
I happened to see Walker & Royce and Nala join the stage to enjoy the vibes during John Summit’s performance at Factory Town! Not only that, I met Wenzday in line at Mad Club Wynwood and she happened to remember when I interviewed her in 2023! It wasn’t long until I saw one of her best friends BIJOU follow behind. It’s seeing your favorite artists in their natural habitat of music that makes MMW magical!

]]>As an artist singing for all to feel less alone with her heartfelt lyrics, her new solo track “Embers” accomplishes just that. Famous for combining beauty, ferocity, and vulnerability in her voice, “Embers” is one new release out of many to come along with other projects this 2024. I, Mary Mason, on the behalf of savormeditation, collected HAYLA’s jewels of wisdom: giving oneself the license to experiment, the meaning behind the song lyrics in “Embers”, and the life lessons which motivate her to seek true expression while at this year’s Electronic Dance Music Awards.
iHR: Thank you so much for your time! It’s an honor to interview you, especially under these circumstances being here at the EDMAs! How do you feel after your performance?
HAYLA: Singing is my favorite thing to do, so honestly, I was honored when they asked me to perform here at the EDMAs! It’s my first time in Miami and to be surrounded by this, I had a few moments where I had my eyes opened to the amazing area–the setting is incredible. The audience sang along and danced a little bit too! It was an early performance and really cool!
iHR: How did you prepare for this performance since performing for the EDMAs can be different from any other club or festival appearance?
HAYLA: I knew we had the time slot that we did. I knew the tracks I wanted to perform were the collaborations I had before: the crowd-pleasers, but I love singing those songs. You write and perform them, but seeing people sing them, I think that connective part is the best part. I also wanted to perform some of my own music, so I performed my upcoming single “Embers”.
iHR: Speaking of “Embers”, with lyrics: “Fire burn in the darkness/ Take a breath/ Fill my lungs with you/ Memories of us/ See the embers of dust and it all fell apart”. Can you tell me more about the meaning behind them?
HAYLA: “Embers” was written with my good friend Martin Mason MIles and produced by the amazing MotherEarth. I wrote this song about being able to burn everything that reminds you of a person to ashes except that tiny ember that won't let anything other than time put it out.
iHR: What was your favorite part of the process when filming the music video for your collaborative track with John Summit, “Shiver”?
HAYLA: It was an incredible day! I’ve never been on a big set like that before. Seeing the inner-workings of how something like that works and seeing the set is what makes it incredible. It was great to see the amount of people who knew what they were doing and moving to the speed of things. Obviously, me and John are friends now which made it fun to be on set together; he’s so lovely.
iHR: With that, you and John Summit create an otherworldly duo, what is your favorite thing about working with him?
HAYLA: Thank you! I think he has a euphoric way of producing. I feel like all of his drops and chord sequences make it atmospheric. Because the sound is always so vast, but it allows my vocal to breathe as well. I think when you’re working with producers you try to make sure no part gets. He’s kept the integrity of my vocal which I appreciate. It’s just so fun to sing along because it's like that big sound like the music behind us now is doing. He’s just a great producer, he has a great ear, and I feel like it’s emotional as well.
iHR: Which female singers inspired you to become the powerful vocalist you are today?
HAYLA: Whitney Houston! Definitely! I was obsessed! The first musical thing I ever had was The Bodyguard on tape. I used to have this Fisher Price karaoke machine when I was four-years-old and I used to sit there, play it, and reverse it. I have a recording of it, it’s actually hilarious! Whitney was my #1 idol, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand–quite a few of artists I grew up listening to with my parents. We always listened to music constantly; they’re not musicians themselves but it was a massive part of my life growing up. I think I just latched on, especially because my mom and I would sing together. We still do!
iHR: Congratulations on all of your well-deserved EDMA nominations and awards! How has this recognition and impact of the awards made you feel?
HAYLA: I think it’s incredible! I’m so grateful to have the recognition! It means a lot! I had an interview and didn’t realize I had won at first. The recognition isn’t lost on me, so It really does mean a lot!
iHR: 2023 was a pivotal year for your discography, what helped you stay motivated to create?
HAYLA: That’s a really good question actually! I think you can have those bouts of doubt. I felt like I had a creative role, a few things to say and get off my chest. The nice thing about writing is it can sometimes be like a diary. So, you might write something and it may not look like anything at all. Then, you piece it together like a jigsaw puzzle–a diary but a crossword.
iHR: As a writer, it reminds me of some lines/song lyrics mattering more than others.
HAYLA: Yeah! Kind of like: what’s that? I’m feeling that but what about it sticks out? Maybe this line is more relatable to others, maybe it can help people feel less alone and not on their own. This year, I definitely like I had a lot more to say as an artist. It doesn’t always happen because you can have those moments like: oh, shit, I guess I have nothing to say here. But, I felt like there was more to say! I feel as if I’m in control of my mind a bit more. HAYLA points to her head. Write, please!
iHR: I love your festival fashion so much because I am a HUGE fan of black, latex, leather, anything that emulates dominatrix fashion. What inspires your choice of performance outfits?
HAYLA: I’ve always loved the gothic-alternative look. Black is my favorite color. I choose what I wear by feeling a lot of the time. All of my clothes are black, so how am I going to choose? I was experimenting a little bit and I felt like I wasn’t elevating myself to the level I wanted to be at. So, I found Beau Tiger Rae who is my amazing stylist that I’ve been working with. He’s given me a license to experiment. I was experimenting and I was wondering is that for me? He said, “Yes, it’s for you. Why wouldn’t it be for you?”. Dressing up is fun and it’s for everybody! I think it’s an extension of expressing the self! He’s given me more license especially because he finds me pieces and he’ll ask, “Would you wear that? I think you’ll look good in it.” I try the fashion piece on and I think: I should have always had this. I’ve always loved fashion, leather, and latex. I have a pair of Doc Martens I’ve had for as long as I can remember; they’re battered and beaten up, but I am never getting rid of them. My expression has been elevated a little bit more now.
iHR: It’s wonderful to hear you and your stylist are allowing for more creative freedom even in this aspect of your self-expression because I think allowing creative freedom can spread to other parts of your artistry.
HAYLA: It’s funny actually because I feel like it’s a tidbit of feeling more daring like yeah, I’m going to do that. Yeah, I’m going to wear that. And, feel comfortable in it! I feel like I’ve given myself license in other ways as well.
iHR: You’ve curated almost 10 years of your discography, is there a part of your artistic expression you’d like to change or strengthen?
HAYLA: Oh, my gosh, yes! I’ve always played musical instruments to a degree where I form an understanding, but I don’t push myself further with it. I really want to become better at playing piano because I would love to be able to show that to people. Also, playing guitar. I need to get over being freaked-out about showing people that! I’ve developed more confidence in other areas like writing in who I am as HAYLA–that side that people see. Other things I wished I had taken more time and care in cultivating. I still have hurdles to chip down, I think my mission should focus on trying to get over those hurdles and stick to something, so I can be more multifaceted as well. I’d like to write my completely own stuff without relying on anybody else. I love working with other people, but I’d like to be more self-sufficient.
iHR: It’s admirable and inspiring that you show a lot of grace with this concept of confidence as a process.
HAYLA: It’s funny because some people expect confidence to fully be present sometimes. At times, confidence can show up depending on the day, the mood, feelings, emotions. It’s a total process! There are times where you’re not feeling great, but you still have to take an hour to listen to your favorite music and take deep breaths to get yourself centered.
iHR: I’m curious, what is a recurring life lesson you keep learning?
HAYLA: I’ve doubted myself so much throughout my life about loads of things. I know everyone does. I’m a terrible overthinker, my God, if I could turn that off I would. I think in the past if I second-guessed myself, I was putting it off for no reason. It’s like you against what your anxious mind is telling you not to do, it’s there to prove yourself wrong and going forward and thinking like why can’t this space be for me? Why can’t I do that? Why can’t I wear this? Why can’t do those things? In the most healthy way, it’s kind of like giving myself the excuse to do it anyway!
iHR: What is next in store for you this year?
HAYLA: I have been working on an album; it’s nearly done. I think we’re looking at November for the release date hopefully. I’m really looking forward to that! There’s a few collaborations as well that I can’t say anything about just yet. Maybe some gigs and touring at the end of the year.

Pride month began as a protest and riot in New York City's West Village on June 28, 1969 when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular safe haven for LGBTQ people at the time. In those days, dressing up as a person of the opposite sex was a crime, and many LGBTQI people were forced to live in secret or risk arrest.
Gay bars at the time operated in secret, or at least kept their patronage fairly under wraps to protect the people that they served. Bars served as a safe space for LGBTQI people, offering a space of refuge in a society that didn't welcome or accept them for who they were.
The Stonewall Riots began when Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two trans women of color, sparked a riot outside of the Stonewall Inn to protest the police raid that happened there that day (though there is speculation that Johnson didn't arrive until later). The riots sparked what we now celebrate as Pride after the event triggered protests for LGBTQI liberation around the world.
Throughout history, raves and underground dance music events have been a safe space for LGBTQI youth to celebrate themselves and feel welcomed for who they are. Some of your favorite EDM genres have come from club and rave scenes that were started by LGBTQI artists and creators.
Believe it or not, each color in the Pride flag represents something different. The original rainbow pride flag has six colors which represent the following:
Red: Life
Orange: Healing
Yellow: Sun
Green: Nature
Blue: Harmony
Violet: Spirit
A new version of the Pride flag was unveiled in 2018 when graphic designer Daniel Quasar added a five color chevron to the left side of the flag to represent inclusion within the LGBTQI community. The colors in the chevron represent the following:
White, pink and blue: Transgender pride
Brown, Black: people of color within the LGBTQI community
Pride is about self expression and celebrating your own unique identity. So, when you attend a pride celebration, don't be afraid to celebrate yourself in the way that feels most authentic. Fun, colorful outfits both celebrate the colors associated with Pride while also allowing you to get creative with your look.

It's not required, but glitter does make everything better. You can add a dash of camp to any look by incorporating glitter or body jewels into your outfit or makeup. You can shop body glitter and face jewels at savormeditation.
You can add more color to your pride outfit by adding wigs and hair accessories to your look. This is a fun way to create an original look, and you can even go in drag if you want to experiment with gender. Shop wigs and hair accessories here.
Makeup is one of the most fun ways to experiment and show off your true self. Play around with textures and colors to create a fun makeup look for pride 2021. I love playing with bright colored eyeshadows and liners to create a cool eye look. Plus, now that mask mandates are being lifted you can finally experiment with cute lipstick colors again.
Just like at a festival, pride still comes with its own risks. Keep your things safe with something like a fanny pack or a small backpack that you can keep close to you. Keep an eye on your surroundings no matter where you are and check out our guide to avoiding theft at festivals for some ideas on how to avoid theft at pride.

Wait, what? Yep. It's no mistake that I've included Burning Man on this list. While it's not technically a festival, Burning Man is an event where you can find some incredible food, and it's all free.
Burning Man is all about community and self-expression, and this extends to the food as well. Since it's a gifting society, you'll find homemade, experimental foods that you wouldn't see anywhere else. It’s a unique culinary adventure that mirrors the eccentricity of the event itself. 🌌🥘
