First and most importantly, you need to know about the most fire lineup in all of Colorado. Global Dance Festival's 2023 lineup is hotter than ever, featuring acts such as Alan Walker, Haliene, Green Velvet, and even Borgore B2B Dion Timmer.
Tickets for Global Dance Festival start at $179 and can be bought here. There are GA and VIP tickets available, along with single-day tickets.
VIP tickets get you the following:
I think it’s super cool that there are rides at Global Dance! In the past rides have included swings, Ferris wheels, spinning cars and more! Stay tuned for this year’s ride list, coming soon.

Ravers gotta eat! It’s important to refuel throughout the event so you have the proper energy to dance your booty off all night long! Plus, this is a great way to "taste" and support local Denver food. Stay tuned for a list of Food Trucks coming soon.
This year’s event will take place for the third year in a row at Empower Field at Mile High (in the parking lot of Bronco Stadium). Getting to this location is super easy and affordable! You can either take the light rail for a round trip of up to $12 and get dropped off just a few blocks away. Or, you can easily use ride share and get picked up/dropped off right next to the festival!

I love wandering the festival grounds at each fest and experiencing the different art and performers. It really makes the event feel so much more magical! This year, GDF will have art installations that are both returning and new installations that are “carefully curated for an experience to spark the imaginations.” Additionally, there are set to be tons of performers in creative costumes roaming the fest, including dancers, stilters, circus performers and more. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this!

]]>No two raves or festivals are exactly alike when it comes to the standard dress code, but one rule prevails - be yourself! The theme and vibe of the rave or festival will influence what people wear to each event, but there are some wardrobe staples that you’re likely to see no matter where you’re raving or what time of year it is. One of those staples is the rave mask, which can be spotted pretty much everywhere you turn at nearly any rave or festival. Rave masks are so ubiquitous that they’re almost a symbol of rave culture, and they have tons of benefits aside from making you look cute. You can find a huge variety of color, pattern, and style options available from shops like savormeditation.
Ravers can take credit for a lot of different festival trends (kandi and totems, anyone?), but unfortunately, rave masks aren’t one of them. You have to go back in history - way back - to find the first instance of people wearing party masks. In fact, the French invented party masks back in the 16th century, when wealthy people started wearing face masks with the lavish costumes that they wore to parties held in the days leading up to Lent. If you’ve never heard of Lent, it refers to the forty days before Easter when people choose one thing they love to give up, like certain foods, alcohol, or social media. It goes without saying that living without some of your favorite things is a major bummer, so people have been going all out in parties leading up to Lent for hundreds of years. Ever heard of Mardi Gras? Of course you have. It’s the biggest pre-Lent party there is, and it continues to this day. Once people started wearing masks to these early parties, masked balls, called masquerades, became all the rage in Europe as people went all out to enjoy themselves before making their big sacrifices. You might even say they threw the very first raves, complete with costumes, masks, and dancing that lasted all night.
Not to be outdone, Italians in the 17th century began making the trend their own with papier-mache masks that were literal artistic masterpieces. Only the ultra-rich could afford to hire artists to create these masks, so creating one was a huge deal and a show of status. The Italians didn’t have glitter, but that didn’t stop them from decorating their masks with paint, ribbons, feathers, glass beads, and pretty much anything else you can think of. They loved these masks because their identities were concealed, which meant that they could truly be themselves and cut loose, just like ravers do today.
Ever since those early parties hundreds of years ago, masks have been a staple on the party scene, and they’ve been fully embraced by the rave community. Whether you’re wearing a mask to protect your lungs and airways from floating debris, using them to accessorize your look, or trying to stay incognito so you can really let loose, you’ll be in good company wearing a mask to your next rave or festival.
Rave masks are so widespread and popular because wearing them has a ton of benefits and, let’s be honest, they also look pretty cool. Some of the benefits of wearing rave masks include:
Leveling Up Your Look
It’s no secret that fashion is the name of the game at festivals and raves - it’s almost as central to the party as the music and dancing! Of course, there’s a huge range of outfits that ravers choose to wear, so you’ll likely see everything from people wearing shorts and a t-shirt to pasties and leg wraps and everything in between. What matters most when it comes to rave fashion is having fun, being yourself, and expressing yourself through your outfit. As rave culture has evolved, people have added fun accessories like neon hair extensions, harnesses, thigh highs, face gems, kandi, paint splatter, and more to their looks. You can think of rave masks like another accessory that can level up your look and make you really stand out. Whether you choose to purchase a pre-made mask or create your own to match your outfit, now is the time to let your creativity be your guide. Rave masks can truly be anything, and you’re likely to see light up masks, LED masks, glow in the dark masks, purge masks, half face masks, and more. If you’re looking to make a statement but don’t want to start from scratch, consider purchasing a pre-made mask and then add your own touches with glitter, beads, feathers, or whatever else catches your eye!

Protection Against Dust
If you’ve attended pretty much any outdoor EDM music festival, we don’t need to preach to you about why wearing a dust mask is basically an essential. But just in case you haven’t, we will anyway. Let’s face it - festivals are awesome, but inhaling the dirt and dust being kicked up by 100,000 of your new best friends is decidedly not. Certain festivals, like Coachella and Burning Man, are known for their prolific dust even during “good” years because they take place in dry environments where dancing can send trillions of tiny particles into the air. If you attended Coachella in 2013, you undoubtedly remember the windstorm that closed out the festival with dust blowing in from the surrounding California desert covering the festival grounds. Burning Man, which takes place in the Black Rock Desert, has dust issues so serious that a health condition has been named after the dust there. The texture of dust in the Black Rock Desert, called playa dust, is extremely fine - even smaller than the particles of baby powder. As a result, any breeze at all (or the serious dancing that happens at any festival) sends those tiny particles flying into the air, where they quickly make their way into your airways and turn to mud as they mix with the moisture in your lungs. Some people even end up with a condition called eosinophils (or more affectionately, playa lung), which occurs when the immune system begins to attack the dust with disease-fighting white blood cells because it recognizes the dust as a foreign body. Over time, this can cause the airways to become clogged, preventing the body from taking in oxygen, which can be serious. That’s why wearing a mask is so beneficial - it can help filter out at least some of the dust from festivals, keeping it out of your nose and mouth and reducing the chances of you spending the next few weeks hacking it up.

In the age of social media, it’s one thing to say that every one should let loose and be themselves and another thing entirely to actually do it. While there’s no place more accepting, loving, and free-spirited than the rave community, not everyone is completely comfortable letting loose when cameras are everywhere capturing the entire thing for the ‘gram. Rave masks offer a bit of anonymity that allows you to cut loose and vibe with your friends without worrying about your boss seeing pictures of you in your rave outfit. If you’re looking for a way to blend in with the crowd and do your own thing without worrying about being recognized, try rocking a rave mask at your next event.
There’s no such thing as the “right” style of rave masks - creativity is the name of the game! There are lots of different styles and you should choose the one that meets your needs and compliments your look. These styles are just a few of our favorites.
Denver is truly blessed with some AMAZING artists every year (thank you rave gods, and Red Rocks), but this particular lineup blew me away! There are so many awesome artists on this bill, my eyes can barely focus every time I look at it.
Before I go to a festival, I always map out my MUST-SEE artists. I’m talking like, these are the artists I WILL leave my squad for, should we have a scheduling conflict (sorry guys).
Here’s what’s on my list for Global Dance Festival:
Excision b2b Illenium
The king himself will be hitting up the Mile-High City for the second time this year. I saw him at 1st Bank Center in March and it was oh-so-wonderful. However, this time Excision will be doing a special b2b set with Illenium that is (currently) only scheduled to take place one other time this year - at Lost Lands. These are literally two of my favorite artists and if they’re set is anything like their track, “Gold,” I am ALL about it!
BTSM
Somehow, I've never had the chance to see BTSM live before and I am SO excited to finally have the chance! I've been listening to their live sets nonstop and I can't wait to experience it in person.
Chris Lake
Operator – we have a problem. In all my years of raving, I’ve never seen Chris Lake live before! I’ve only heard good things about his sets, so I’m really excited for the chance to finally see him live.
Kaskade
The last time I saw Kaskade live, I had the unfortunate experience of getting my phone pickpocketed while I was watching his set. Needless to say, I am excited for a second chance to see him that will hopefully be a much better experience. I'll be sure to pack some extra tissues with me for all the feels he's going to bring!
Joyryde
I saw Joyryde at Slugtopia in 2017 and it was freakin' awesome. His unique sound always gets me hyped and can always put me in a good mood, no matter what (even while stuck in traffic). I can't wait to see him again!
Who are YOU most excited to see at Global Dance Festival 2019?!

Friday, June 14th 11:00AM-12:30 PM // Hosted By Moon Sign Magic & Stephanda
Kundalani is the yoga of awareness, Yoga has dozens of variations in philosophy and style. Some yogas (like Bikram) are structured as a physical workout. Others (like Jivamukti) put an emphasis on meditation. Kundalini Yoga is little of both, but with an added emphasis on consciousness that activates energy centers throughout the body. Kundalini class can be a good workout, but its teachers and students participate in each kriya with a quiet reverence more akin to a temple than a gym. If you like your physical exercise to come with a side of spiritual enlightenment, Kundalini Yoga might be for you.
ACRO YOGA
Saturday, June 15th 10:00AM-11:30AM // Hosted By Gravity Lift
With a mutual admiration for yoga & its philosophies, Jordan Goff and Antonella Zabaglio have joined forces to co-create a ripple effect of awesome vibes in the PNW and abroad. They have a zest for life that is contagious, an authentic strength coupled with a vulnerability that is truly inspiring, and a love for each other that was crafted by The Universe.
As creators and curators for Gravity Lift, Jordan & Antonella strive to move beyond the traditional and technological landscapes, building connection through music, yoga, and events that stimulate the mind, body, and soul.

Although this lineup is straight fire, here are the three sets that you should definitely not miss this year at Paradiso:
Digital Oasis is the house/trance stage, you’ll catch me groovin' here most of the weekend- but you surely find at i_o 's set. i_o is an upcoming Techno DJ/Producer. Be careful, death by techno is a real thing - and he specializes in it. He just released his “Death by Techno” EP, so make sure to give it a listen! This is the #1 set I am looking forward to that weekend. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to hear is a remix of Above and Beyond’s: Alchemy - currently unreleased but its absolute fire.
Make sure you get in early enough for the PNW’s very own: Frida K. Frida K willl open Digital Oasis for the day and her tech-house vibes will start your festival off right.
The Wreckage is the home to the headbangers of the Pacific Northwest, and home to me during Opiou’s set. You shouldn’t miss this set because his style is more of a funk-bass instead of dubstep. This will be one of the most unique sets of the weekend for sure, and one of the most fun. I highly recommend catching his set before continuing to break your neck throughout the day.
Nothing will ever beat the view you get while at Paradise, Paradiso’s Mainstage. All the sets at this stage will be nothing short of remarkable. Based on the view alone, anywhere you sit on the hill, you’ll feel like you have the best seat in the house. If you end up staying at Digital Oasis or the Wreckage all day, make sure you catch Zhu. Zhu at mainstage has been a dream of mine for some time now. I cannot wait “Hometown Girl” and his “Faded” remix by Odesza from my favorite hill in the world. Do. Not. Miss. This. Set.

No matter what set you see at Paradiso Festival, you’ll have a great time. Make sure you secure a spot soon, tickets are selling fast! For ticket and more information visit Paradiso's website.

Whether you’re headbanging to Herobust, groovin to Chris Lake, or gettin all the feels with Kaskade, there’s truly something for everybody with this diversified lineup!
There’s some massive headliners on this lineup including Diplo, BTSM, and Galantis (just to name a few!) And can we talk about that Excision B2B Illenium set?! Aside from Lost Lands, this is the only other b2b set scheduled with Excision and Illenium (so far anyway!).
Aside from Decadence, Global Dance Festival is one of Denver’s only actual festivals, as opposed to shows (don’t get me wrong - we are in NO way short of awesome shows in this beautiful state). But unlike shows at Red Rocks, this event will have multiple stages and carnival rides, giving it more of a festival feel.
Although this event originally was hosted at Red Rocks, the location changed to Bronco Stadium a few years ago. In my opinion, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Here’s why: although Red Rocks is an iconic location, the logistics of getting to Bronco Stadium are much easier. You can take the light rail (public transportation) straight downtown and it’s just a short walk to the station. Additionally, getting an Uber to downtown is likely to be cheaper (depending on where you live/are staying) than Red Rocks. Plus, there are several dope events already happening at Red Rocks this year, so the diversity of this events location doesn’t bother me. Because the event is on flat ground, there’s a lot more freedom with the set up of the festival - including the FIVE stages and carnival rides!
In previous years, some sweet pre & after parties were also included as part of #GlobalWeek, so keep your eyes peeled for announcements regarding 2019.
I’ve had my eye on this festival for the past few years, but unfortunately never had the chance to attend. However, after experiencing Decadence a few different times, I’m excited to see what Global Dance Events will bring to this festival in terms of production and performers (because both were freakin' awesome at Decadence)!
Having recently moved to Denver this past winter, it’s safe to say that I am more than excited to check out this festival right in my own backyard!
Global Dance Festival 2019 Essential Info:

]]>Yesterday, savormeditation announced their official sponsorship of the first festival set to take place in outer space in 2025 called, iHeartSpace.
“The concept is similar to a festival on a cruise ship, but in a rocket ship.” - says co-founder, ET Martin, owner of event & EDM company, Doc Martians. The only major difference is you’ll be partying for 6 days in space instead of at sea. The plan is for attendees to spend the majority of the time orbiting the Earth. However, there will be two planned stops to unconfirmed locations.” (We’ll give you a hint for one of the stops- there’s a lot of cheese at this place).
savormeditation plans to sponsor many aspects of the festival including hosting a Zero gravity stage and activating a special freeze-dried ice cream station with their own unique flavor called, “Unicorn Starship.”
“savormeditation has always supported innovation and creativity so I’m really excited about this collaboration,” said Sr. Brand Manager, Mama Unicorn.
Although the event is not for another 6 years, festival planners do have some major headliners of the future in mind, including DJ Beef Sticks, Blackhole Babes, and Da Martianz.

I've loved makeup since I was a little girl, it's something I've studied since I could read; I always had my head in a book or magazine, there are makeup facts that I read at age 10 that still pop up in my conversations today. I started playing with doing other people's makeup when I was in high school but didn't actively pursue it as a full-time career until 5-6 years ago. I went to makeup school to get my foot in the door with internships, met amazing people along the way (like savormeditation photographer, Gregorio Campos), and it's been my life since.
Princess Glam on @priscillacrystalg
It really is a dream job! I worked in the corporate world for about 7 years before I changed careers. Although I learned a lot in my corporate days, I hated being locked up inside, doing the same mundane things every day. I was self-taught but knew I needed to find my way to a set, so I attended makeup school. Right after graduating, the school owner took me with her to a magazine shoot and the rush was something I was immediately addicted to. I have never felt happier or more at home than I do when I am working. I did a lot of unpaid work for practice, to build my portfolio, and really learn the ropes. About a year in, I met Gregorio Campos and we clicked creatively right away. He and I would shoot a few days a week, and we started getting clients and branching out. I credit Greg with so much of my success because he never let me give up and he still helps me now, he's like my brother!
Making people feel beautiful. I have the privilege of working with women and men from ages 3 to 90; no matter what age we are, we still need to feel loved and noticed. Sometimes, I get to work on grandmas at weddings that haven't felt pretty in many years, and seeing their eyes sparkle with happiness when they're glammed up makes my heart so full!
Soft glam and glitter highlight on @love.you_em
Recently, is having to explain to everyday women that many of the photos they are comparing themselves to on Instagram or Pinterest are heavily edited and photoshopped. I get to work on all kinds of people, and the most beautiful ones in my eyes are the people that are genuinely happy and at peace with themselves. I wish more women would embrace that they are perfect in their own skin, that freckles and lines are a part of what makes them shine, that pores are meant to exist! I think because I get to be so close to so many people, I find magic and beauty in the little things that make us unique.
Gregorio Campos had me do makeup for a shoot with INTO THE AM (savormeditation' sister brand), which lead to us meeting CK, the Merchandise Manager, for both brands :), they've become like family since then!
There are too many to list here! I love that I get to color outside of the lines on set with savormeditation!
Matching glam for this "Dragon Scale" themed outfit, modeled by @alicetheromanca
Spirit gum is your best friend, it has a great hold for jewels. Ben Nye Final seal setting spray is amazing.
I try to use waterproof eyeliners and mascaras; my favorite liners are by Marc Jacobs (they don't budge!) and Lash Paradise Mascara from Loreal. Glitter is also a must, along with good glue. Note on glitter: if you are using it on your eyes, make sure it is marked as safe for eye use. Glitters that are too big, with corners, will cut up your eyeball and make for a very glitter-less few months after.
I started asking for makeup at age 2, haha. I'm also bilingual and a total bookworm speed reader.
Probably EDC with the savormeditation family.

Work hard, be kind, be honest, and be humble. It takes some time to get there, but if you stay consistent and connect with good people, you'll be fine. You have to have patience and ALWAYS remain a student, the second you think you know everything, you're out. Know your worth and stand up for yourself :)

]]>Sonic Bloom will take place in Spanish Peaks Country, CO: at Hummingbird Ranch. According to their website, get ready for "the shady trees, a bubbling creek, and beautiful views. The venue is an easy 2.5-hour drive south of Denver."
Visiting Colorado is one of my favorite places to travel, especially during the summertime. You can't beat the weather, gorgeous views, or the good vibes. In addition to the venue itself being beautiful, it looks like the festival will be easy to get around. I love how close the camping is the venue!

You'll have the opportunity to be able to see and explore beautiful works of art throughout the festival. There's ton of installations, including everything from rock balancing to light-up LED lights in the nighttime. Be sure to check out this year's installation artists ahead of time so you don't miss out on anything you want to see!

Held at the NOS Events Center in San Bernadino, California, Beyond Wonderland is annual spring festival hosted by Insomniac Events. Many attendees (like myself) look forward to kicking off festival season at this Alice-in-wonderland themed event.
Here are five things I’m looking forward to most about Beyond Wonderland:
1. The Music (duh!) - I was so stoked to see the Beyond Wonderland 2018 lineup come out and I’m looking forward to several acts. This lineup is extremely diverse and is sure to keep everybody in your squad happy. Personally, I’m extra excited to see Seven Lions (for the first time, yay!) and Valentino Khan!
Rainbow Velvet Fishnet Bodysuit and Tie Dye Velvet Suspender Booty Shorts - now available!
4. The Theme - Last year Beyond Wonderland took a brief hiatus from the Alice and Wonderland theme and went with an "Under the Sea" theme. I thought this was cool, but I absolutely LOVE anything Alice related. From my Halloween costumes as a kid (and adult) to reading the book, watching the movies, and loving the ride at Disneyland, I can safely say my appreciation for Wonderland Culture runs deep. Needless to say, I was excited to see the theme revealed this year.

5. The Weather - I don't know why, but I just love the idea of kicking off my festival season at an outdoor event. Having fostered my raving career for the last six years in the PNW, SoCal Raves are particularly glorious to me. During the majority of the year in Southern California (March in particular), you can run around in shorts without freezing your rave booty off (literally). This is something completely unheard of to me and I’m looking forward to enjoying the sunshine in shorts and a crop top.
Don’t want to miss out on the magic? Tickets to Beyond Wonderland can be purchased here. See you guys in March!

I spent the next day with my Aunt and Uncle and one of my friends that I went to the show with. While most people spend New Year's Day hungover in bed, I was still buzzing from the magical world I'd stepped in the night before. If my uncle understood one thing about me, he knew my love and appreciation for music (when I was 12, I got a drum set and wanted to be a rock star. He encouraged my dreams by nicknaming me LDG, little drummer girl. And yes, he still called me that long after my rock star dreams were crushed). That being said, he was a good sport about my dramatic retelling of my first festival experience. He even got down to some Pretty Lights and we spent the rest of the day listening to good music and drinking Budweiser (the only beer I ever saw him drinking). Little did I know that would be one of the last days I ever spent with him.
A few months ago, I got a horrible phone call and learned that my Uncle had passed. It was one of the worst nights of my life. For weeks after, I felt like I was living a bad dream and felt like a real-life zombie. In the midst of my sadness the other day (and approximately my 100th Budweiser in his honor), a Pretty Lights song came on and I felt like that was a sign. I dug up the playlist I made from that magical weekend and now I can't stop listening. I know listening to Pretty Lights can't actually fix a heartbreak, but it seems like a good place to start. Looking back, I'm so glad that my love for EDM and festivals is so closely associated with that New Years Eve and time spent with great friends and the best family.
In my experience, EDM has only been associated with happy moments but now I understand why people say it's healing. Every song on that playlist is pure magic and when I listen to it, I'm transported to happier times. Some say that memories fade over time but I'm convinced that with that playlist, I'll always feel like every magical moment of that New Years weekend will be preserved forever.
I’m so excited for my first Nocturnal! For the last few years, I’ve dreamed of going to this event. Unfortunately, I’m usually broke around this time of year from all the summer festival happenings and living in Oregon made it expensive/difficult to get down to Southern California. But now I’m a proud Orange County resident and I’ve been looking forward to this since I knew I was moving a few months ago. When I saw the lineup come out, I became even more excited. AND even more excited when I went to the venue for the first time ever for HARD Summer in August. This year, Nocturnal’s line up features a ton of up and coming artists just waiting to be discovered! While I’m looking forward to discovering all that new music, here are my top 5 artists I’m looking forward to seeing at Noc!
Some people may say he’s overrated but this is going to be my 7th time seeing him and I’m not sick of him one bit. (My husband and I went to our first date at his show back in 2014, so I might be biased) Whether it’s Dillon or DJ Hanzel or Preston, I always have the best time at his sets.
In 2015, Valentino Played in Portland. It still blows me away when I think about how much fun that set was. I think he’s definitely one of the most underrated dj’s and I’m looking forward to seeing him throw down on the big stage. My best workouts are done while listening to his EDC sets so I’m confident he’ll be making everybody pumped up and ready to dance.
Where’s my Vomit Squad at? Snails has been in my top 5 DJs since I saw him at Paradiso in 2015. I’m looking forward to getting grimey with some felllow bass heads at this set. This is an old mix but still one of my favorites.
Due to one thing or another, I missed Subfocus’ sets at previous events. Even if I go alone, I’m 100% determined to see him. I need some good dnb in my life! This is my favorite song and I’ve been working on some sweet shuffle moves – keep an eye out for me on the dance floor!
Looking forward to seeing the King of Bass again. I saw Excision 6 times last year but the last time I saw him absolutely blew me away. That was in a small theater in Eugene, Oregon so I can’t wait to see what he’ll do on a big stage! Everytime I hear this set, it makes me pumped and ready to headbang.
